Watched this last night and Dan Mullen kind of instigated this with his theatrics running after the refs before the fight started. He also came back out from under the tunnel waving his arms trying to get the crowd worked up. Come on Cousin Eddie you can set a better example than that.

After all the discussion I saw about it on Twitter, when I got home last night I went and found the video. My impression is the same as most everyone's... It was a late hit, but the type we see quite often. Wasn't egregiously dirty. Certainly wasn't to the level to invite that type of reaction from Mullen. Looked to me like Mullen was probably pissed about something else that had happened, and then that set him off? Not sure if there were other late hits prior or something, but Mullen's way of handeling it was fittingly of the clown that he is. Leaving the field, then walking back, to hype up the crowd? Then walking into the PC like a cosplay dork and not taking any responsibility for the situation? Just dumb.

I have never been as bought in on Mullen as many seem to be. I think he is a decent coach but an ah shucks clown otherwise.

As an administrator, you know that it is crap like this that makes you cringe!! A PR nightmare and just embarrassing for the school.

As an administrator, I hate dealing with crap like this when it happens. The problem that most everyone fails to understand with school issues is that you have to allow due process for every person no matter your personal opinion. Interested to see what happens today. I see some suspensions and fines for the people involved. Hopefully, more than just a slap on the wrist.
