šŸˆ Flipping the Field: How college football's Power 5 should expand

Since the beginning of these conferences splitting into divisions we've seen more than a handful criticize two conferences—the B1G and the Big 12—for having very unbalanced divisions. Do you remember how many times people talked about how weak the Big 12 North was?

Yet, when they bring up realigning conferences they continually do the same thing: leave unbalanced divisions.

Whether people like the geographic imbalance or not, the SEC got it right on day one and did again when they added Arkansas and Missouri. An even split between the six power teams in the SEC needs to remain in place.

Did you guys know that it's been over 50 years since a team outside of the power six has won an SEC title in football?

I'd take ECU or UCF before Charlotte. ECU would probably be a wiser choice, since they can tap into the NC market. ECU has a solid following. I've got a few alums in the family.

I like the addition of Memphis.

So based off of this, the dividing line between East/West is down the center of Alabama.

Really expected that to be a Dennis Dodd article. ECU/UCF and Memphis? FOH.

Which two would you take, if they moved to 16? IMO it only makes sense to try and expand into North Carolina, or perhaps even Virginia. Capture the whole South. I don't see any non-SEC power teams moving into the SEC (such as FSU or Texas).

I wouldn't take any non Power 5 teams.
