🏈 FLA - Brandon Spikes gouging Ga running back's eyes

Spikes does deserve some sort of discipline, but it does happen a lot.

You ever wonder why this type stuff doesn't go on a lot in the NFL? Because at the next opportunity the guy would be leaving the game with an "injury." I heard a former ALL PRO DB say, "No one ever pushed off on me." I asked "Why?" He replied, "You break a couple of fingers and the word gets out. It's very hard to catch the ball and get paid with broken fingers."

Miss Sate used to be infamous for the same thing. The reason Saban has a very real dislike for AU is they employed such tactics on his LSU teams.

Also, isn't it taboo to question the character of any FL player with Saint Tim keeping watch over his mates.

Spikes is a thug and if any player on our team did it I would say the same thing. It does go on all the time and if caught those player(s) should be suspended for the year. What Spikes did to me is no different than Blount's actions after the BSU game.

As a fan, how do we bring heat onto this type of behavior? Is there a number at the SEC that can be called or an e-mail address to which we can write, much like one might write their Congressman?

With the SEC and College Football putting a big push on Sprotsmanship, this action can not be defended, and inaction can not be defended either.

I challenge each of you to phone the SEC.

I made a long distance call, and yes they are closed on a Sunday, where I left a message expressing my concern about safety and the potential for hypocracy of regarding sportsmanship if they failed to act.

well, i dont know how differently it will make anyone think or even how true it actually is but ive been told that the Georgia RB spit on Spikes the play before and Spikes was actually 'trying to rip the guys tongue out'. lol that is kinda crazy.

Really? Spitting vs. an enraged man driving fingers into someone's eyes? One conveys strong dislike for another - at worst. The other handicaps a human for life - at worst. How should we be seeing this?

i was kinda curious what caused him to do this. I can tell you this, if someone spit in my eye, I would somehow one up them - call me classless, but you can bet they won't spit in my eye again.

if the RB did something prior to the eye poke, then he kinda got what he deserved. I'm not saying 2 wrongs make a right, just saying, you spit in my face, i'm gonna get you back 2-3 times worse than what you did to me.

Well apparently Meyer has promised "a very serious talk" with Spikes. Said he hadn't seen the tape, but I'm sure he has by now.

Slap on the wrist is about all. Pathetic.
