The build-up to the draft seems to start in about late November these days, but the week of the league's annual Scouting Combine in Indianapolis is when it begins to really engulf us and dominate the discussion in the NFL. As I head back to Indiana once again -- I'll be able to vote there any day now -- for the opening of the league's week-long extravaganza of workouts and Wonderlics, here's our latest attempt at mocking out the draft's first round: ...

Hightower at #32 would be the steal of the draft. "But he's slow..." blah blah blah. His long arms, uncanny stregth, work ethic, and knowledge of the game gives him a shot at def rookie of the year on the right team.

The combine is going to go a long way in deciding where he goes in the draft. The teams will be closely watching his shuttle and cone drills/times.
 
Watching him in some drills he doesn't have a burst of speed, but he's still quick for his size.

Ready for them to blow up the draft, make some noise.

The biggest thing they are watching are his lateral drills. That's the reason I mentioned the cone and shuttle drills. That'll be the determining factor on where he's selected. If he's showing a little difficulty, expect him to drop to the 2nd.
