🏈 First Play From Scrimmage

I think first 12 plays are scripted to test the opposing team defense... so I would say we'll see first run up the middle... I dont think we'll see something major in first quarter. I expect quick passes, bubble screens.. I anticpate 3 and outs several time at the beginning due to our Qbs situation.

OCs normally script their first 15-20 plays of the game and then go off of feel and situation.

Not just this game , but every game up to ut game. Run up the middle. In the ut game, play action off it, and throw deep. Just like in 1973. Rutledge to Wheeler for 80 yard TD! First play in the previous five games had been Fullback dive over the middle.

Seriously though, I think we'll end the game 65-35 to 60-40 run-pass.

First play is going to be Henry on a counter trap left side.

Less specific, 99 percent chance of a run.

When you throw, 3 things can happen and two are bad.

I doubt they'll risk a pass on first down against Wiskey. No interest in getting behind on down and distance on first series of the season if its incomplete. Also, don't want to deflate a fragile QB ego right off the bat.

Remember the motion flat pass to Coop against UT? It might not be that play but Kiff will identify a weakness in formation based our tendencies and try to exploit for a homerun. If the defense does not acquiesse it will be vanilla.

Wildcat with Drake taking the snap and running (most likely left). So the answer to the starting quarterback question is Kenyan Drake. I love the idea of Saban giving everyone the bird with something like that, after all the speculation and questions about choosing a starting QB.

Henry and drake in backfield, Stewart and black out wide. Drake goes in motion out wide. OJ does crossing pattern, black on deep post, drake on a fly pattern. Stewart does an out route. Coker hits Henry on a wide open screen. To the right for a pickup of 23 yards
