šŸˆ šŸ”„ Hot Seat 2025 / Coaching Carousel: OL Coach Kap and Alabama part ways

I'd love for him to come back but he will have no issues finding another job if he wants one right now.
One of my former players was a GA under Dunbar back when Dunbar was here. He is the DL coach at GT under Key now. His name is Kyle Pope. I believe he has the ability to become one of the ā€œthose DL coachesā€. His twin brother Kelsey is the WR coach and passing game coordinator at UT under Huepel.

I recall the name...

I cited a poll/article (spitting hairs) that someone put out that had them at 17th. What is not accurate? Ok it was 16th.... When was the last time the perception of Bama was that low? They have earned that with the product on the field, Could that change between now and the fall? Of course it can but it still represents perceptions after back to back 4 loss seasons. I expected growth issues and stated many times and many disagreed because of CKDs history. What I did not expect was to get blown out in games and look like they did not even belong on the field. This years issue was major problem on the OL as we all know which made it extremely difficult to do anything on offense. No QB or OC can overcome that issue. Have they resolved that? We will see.
An opinion piece from one guy versus a poll of multiple people. Yeah, I'm splitting hairs.

I'm just waiting now for the special teams coach to get removed
It's not good for you to sit there and wait for a coach to be removed, fired or demoted.

Only thing I've seen mentioned was RB coach and that he could move on. I don't think I've heard anyone talking about ST.

I'll say this, sometime you have to take a long hard look at what you have around the program and make changes to what's not working. Maybe they're going to upgrade the analysts for ST unit.

The ST wasn't great this past season but they got better down the road. I don't know if they make a change at ST but im willing to bet that they're going to change up how they do things on the field

I think the mental state of some of you will not weather through this change of guard. Bama tried to push with Simpson and some older talents this last year. That didn't work out how they'd have hoped. Now they have essentially hit the reset button and are gearing up for a new offensive build and everyone is mad about it? This is the new norm in college football, you aren't going to be elite and in the playoffs every year unless you spend in the 40-50 million range right now and just buy talent. There was a Texas roster that cost somewhere between 40-50 million this year sitting at home during the playoffs while we played. So it goes to show, $$ doesn't mean jack shit if you can't get the kids to play or if money is their only standard they live by.

Teams build rosters with National Championship Windows, much like the NFL and they try to push in certain years where they think they're more likely to be successful. Some teams are taking different approaches or throwing money at the problem, so far only 1 team has won it all by just throwing money at it and that was Ohio State last year. They saw their opportunity and they spent big, this year they lowered their costs and were out in the first round.

I just don't understand the sentiment by this fan base who obvious doesn't understand that Saban and Bryant will never be repeated anymore...those are impossibilities in the new climate of NIL and spending. Especially with 0 rules, there's less emphasis on development, tradition, and NFL opportunities.

I like the approach we are taking, develop, build the way I see it, we're looking at 2027-2028 as being our big window for our offense. All these guys will have a year under their belt and be much more battle tested. Especially along the OL and at QB. I am not putting it out the window for 2026 but I think we'll likely be rough on offense but the defense may be incredibly solid still. We shall see...

Ohio State made it both times, winning it once for $20M.
