šŸˆ šŸ”„ Hot Seat 2025 / Coaching Carousel: Alabama adds key personnel "behind the scenes."

Is he the only OL coach or will he have an assistant OL coach as well

I can't say for certain but my guess is it'll be like last season... 1 main OL coach (Klemm) and 2 offensive line assistants/analysts to help in practices and such. They'd have to replace one of them though, Kirk Barron, who went with Shephard to Oregon State to be his main OL coach.

I've seen the speculation/rumors that another OL "on the field" coach will be hired... maybe so, but I haven't heard that from anyone that I talk to. I think it might be more likely that whoever is hired as TE coach, has some OL coaching in the background but that's just a guess.

Has he signed

I know he's accepted the position... not sure if he's "officially" signed yet... I'd lean no, as that usually takes some time. Sometimes they will. sign that an agreement has been reached, but the actual contract comes later. But he's in the fold.
The contract would have to be approved by the BOT, right? They don't meet until next month. So, I'd assume there is nothing to officially sign until the ink is dry on UA's side? MOU, they call it?

I haven't looked today. I have been looking, or trying to look, once a week to see what the agenda is for that meeting. Are we going to see them vote on an extension?

Last week I mentioned the feeling we are going to see a GM running things as much as, if not more, than the head coach in a few years. This move with bringing Klemm in fits that theory. To me, that's where the "relationship" aspect they demand is in play.

Perhaps take a moment and create the poll before you refer to it? ...just sayin'.
Not my poll.

You mean this one: Way-too-early college football top 25 rankings for the 2026 season
The one that was super super super super early poll? Haven't even made it through winter workouts, spring camp, summer workouts, fall camp, first game?

You mean that one that doesn't mean shit at this point? The one that's totally irrelevant and shouldn't be referenced to? That one? You mean other see it, so that they decide to copy the articles and repost it as if they did the polls themselves? You mean to tell me based on that bullshit, it doesn't create confidence for you? Oh okay.
Keep acting like these guys are getting it done if you want to. I will be a huge CKD fan if he is able to put an elite team on the filed. So far I have not seen that. Didn't expect that but also didn't expect getting blown out in games or getting beat by teams where we were double digit favorites. I get way to early polls do not mean much but they do speak to the perception of what people think they are seeing in T-Town. But I am sure I am wrong because you have spoken and continuing to deny results will make us all feel better I guess.

It was a comment on how fans were allowing the fun to be drained from their season and they were the ones pulling the plug.
The fun is in winning.... You seem to equate stating concerns about how the team is performing to robbing people of joy. This is a football game and a sports board neither define my happiness. Back to the football field, winning is fun but surely we can agree that getting blown out is not.

I mean, anyone that wants to see success should have mediocre expectations? We pay Top 5 money and should not have high expectations? You expect financial compensation from your job based on the level of work you provide them, so are you willing to accept less from them if they told you your expectations were too high?
Curious to what his profession is and what industry he works in . I have a theory....

Not my poll.

So you're saying they're going out there and poll people in T-town?

So if CKD don't put out an elite team, you're not a big fan of him. But if he does put out an elite team, you're a big fan of him.
All of this based on winning season, sec championship and an appearance in playoff and it wasn't good enough for you? You want an elite team... Like LSU is building right now ..the 40 million roster?

Yes, the contract will have to be approved by the board but the deal will already be done. If that makes sense.

Deboer Sioux Falls
Grubb Buena Vista State
Wommack Southern Miss

Kapilovic MIssouri State
Linguist Baylor
Morrell Sioux Falls
Nunez Pittsburg State

Robinson Georgia
Nix Southern Miss
Using the lowest denominator, then Saban Kent State, Kirby Smart Valdosta State, etc.

It's not a poll. You've chose to cite an article under the claims of Bama being considered a 17th ranked team written by a guy who doesn't have a vote in any poll.
That is a problem and why Alabama is viewed as something like 17th in the polls this year
This is not accurate which elicited the response you received.

Semantics. It's not important. I was just thinking about the process for a second.

Offer > Accept > Both sides sign MOU > submitted to BOT > Official contract signed.

I believe it's MOU. That's what pricked my curiosity. The rest of the comment is just the bureaucracy in its rightful place.

Don't forget Jimbo and the fighting Baptist at Samford.

Speaking of the Fighting Baptist (Samford). I went down a rabbit hole looking at the new staff being put together after Hatcher was invited to leave last season. New HC (John Grass) along with 1/2 the staff all have Clemson ties. Andrew Swinney (Dabo's boy) Jake Venables (Brent's boy) of note. Also some other names you might recognize. Paul Tyson (Bear Bryant's great-grandson) that played mop up duty for CNS also did a stint at Clemson. Andrew Zow is on staff there too. I think he is halfway to his Alabama retirement by my count on his resume.

I cited a poll/article (spitting hairs) that someone put out that had them at 17th. What is not accurate? Ok it was 16th.... When was the last time the perception of Bama was that low? They have earned that with the product on the field, Could that change between now and the fall? Of course it can but it still represents perceptions after back to back 4 loss seasons. I expected growth issues and stated many times and many disagreed because of CKDs history. What I did not expect was to get blown out in games and look like they did not even belong on the field. This years issue was major problem on the OL as we all know which made it extremely difficult to do anything on offense. No QB or OC can overcome that issue. Have they resolved that? We will see.

I do not compare Bama to any other team. I compare Bama to the Bama standard.... Not hard to understand.
