Not sure if I've ever seen a profession that can fall upwards as much as coaching. I mean, working for the right guy gets you ten years of opportunities. A winning season or one star playing and those guys can sell fools gold to programs. Look at Commerce in Georgia. Hired the coach from Collins Hill that had Travis Hunter and felt he was a homerun hire because of one player and results from when he was in school. I watched that guy go 2-8 this year at a single A school and simply looked lost as heck when I watched from the sideline a couple of games. One stud player bought him recognition and folks think he's catch fire twice.

Agreed! While I was still in HS as a player, there was a RB in the area that got a full ride to Penn State. His HS coach parlayed that kid to a spot on Paterno’s staff. Kid flunked out and the coach was fired within the year!

I don't know. It's not like folks knew of Joe Pendry or Jeff Stoutland before they came to 'Bama.

I'm just glad to see that CKD, moves on from clear subpar coaching.

Kids name was Kevin Woods and he played at Fultondale HS. I was in the 9th or 10th grade then at Corner.
