Lol. Look at Penn State situation.....I'd be dammed if I let one man in Sexton have that much power in college football. NCAA should not allow that to happen. I'd break his knee before I allowed him to muscle me on a coach for my program.
JMO but both are a sign of just how average coaching has become in college football. You have way more top schools than you do top coaches to fill the positions. The assistant pool is even worse.Like Golding, I have a difficult time seeing him as a HC. But maybe one of them, or both, will surprise me.
Nah they're waiting on CKDSo either Penn State never actually offered, or he just chose USF over them. Either way, Penn State is fucked.
I think it's natural that we remember coaches from the last time we saw them regularly. Lupoi's work since leaving Bama in 2018 has prepared him for more:Like Golding, I have a difficult time seeing him as a HC. But maybe one of them, or both, will surprise me.

Nah AD is likely to get fired. I wouldn't be shocked if the president fire him and take over the hiring process. At this point, just hire Terry Smith and be done with it.So either Penn State never actually offered, or he just chose USF over them. Either way, Penn State is fucked.
Eh .... ShrugKiffin stories coming out!

Defensive line coach & run game coordinator- Jacksonville Jaguars (2021)
Defensive line coach- Oregon (2022ā Present)

Same with Golding. Eight years as a DC in the SEC should give you a shot:
Delta State (GA) 2006 Tusculum (DC/DB) 2007-09 Delta State (DC/DB) 2010-11 Southeastern Louisiana (DC) 2012-13 Southern Miss (DB) 2014-15 UTSA (DC/CB) 2016-17 Alabama (DC/ILB) 2018-22 Ole Miss (DC/ILB) 2023-25 Ole Miss 25
For me, I had to guard against that in my work. I'd work with people and then we'd go our separate ways in the agency, sometimes for five, ten, fifteen years. Then, I'd either have them apply for something in my span of control, or I'd hear about them being promoted somewhere else, and I'd default to how I remembered them the last time they were near. As a check, I would always ask myself (and others in the hiring process), "Have you developed over the last X years, or have you languished? Is it fair to think that the other person hasn't developed?" It kept me grounded.
The "young" kids are moving up, and the old guys are moving along.

Now here's one I have been waiting to play out for years! Hartline has been the bedrock for Ohio State, especially their receiving corps. I personally feel this could have a Venables leaving Dabo kind of affect.
So who's Penn targeting now?IMO, Penn State should have offered him a solid deal. Or Fitzgerald.
