I got a note from my friend in Fayetteville; the CFBP / Bowl ticket broker I've mentioned over the last 20 or so years. He tells me there's a guy that's not in the news they've been talking to "behind the scenes." I'll try to see if I can catch up with him this weekend. There's no damn way I'm asking about a coaching search the day before tomorrow. His wife would fly to your house and slap you for my asking.

(On another note: He asked if I'd seen their upcoming basketball schedule. They have some TOUGH ball games coming up.)

About the best they were gonna do, IMO. It sounded like that ship had probably sailed and that Golesh was going to wait on another job, but Arky didn't give up on him. By Arkansas standards, I do think he will do well there... they need someone like him. They ain't gonna be a playoff contender with him, but they'll be closer to their ceiling is he works out.

If I had to guess, it was PJ Fleck. He was interested, they were interested.

It may turn out to be a disaster, but I think he's a pretty good football coach, cheesy offensive scheme aside. But that cheesy scheme will lay well there. Would assume he takes Byrum Brown with him (if he has another season?).
