🏈 Finebaum: Nick Saban knows it's lonely at the top

I find that Saban and I share a lot of the same personality traits. Now, my traits have not yielded such high levels of success, nor a multi-million dollar contract, but still, I see some similarities.

People like us just have a hard time enjoying or celebrating success. We always expect there to be another shoe to drop, or for the work to turn. We always want to anticipate the next thing down the road, and to be able to control the future. It might not be the best way to live to be 100, but it does provide a certain level of consistency. I don't think Urban Meyer or Pete Carroll or Bob Stoops or Mack Brown sit around gloating either. I just think Saban's tireless work effort pushes him ahead of the rest of the bunch.

Once I find my calling in life (I'm 34, so it'd be nice to find that really, really, soon), I hope I can achieve that same level of success. Maybe then, I'll step back and smile every now and then!

Oh, and ROLL TIDE>

F-bomb has to be smirking. He knows that Coach Saban will take a very tired team to his alma mater on 10/23. Bama will have played 7 straight games; 6 straight to BCS teams; 4 straight to SEC teams; 3 of the 7 on the road; and, as usual, ut will have had the previous week off.

Maybe it's just me but even if UT is Finebaum's alma mater, I don't believe he cares for them too much.

tennessee is one of the teams that the off-week won't make much difference. They are going to be miserable this year. I expect Mr. Dooley to have a rough season 1. Some of the others that have the week off though will make life difficult for us.
