🏈 Finebaum Creates All Time Best SEC QB Tournament

Seven of those 10 don't have a national title to their credit during their collegiate years. Half don't have an SECC if memory serves ...

And these are the top 10 of all time?

Please.

Piss poor list! You want to go by conference titles or national titles or stats?

When I read this that was one of the thoughts that crossed my mind.

Take Peyton for a second and weigh him against AJ McCarron. Manning ended his college career with a little over 2000 more passing yards than AJ with over 200 more attempts and roughly 250 more completions (I won't take the time to figure out how many more games Peyton started than AJ ... I'll just say remember Manning had his first start as a freshman.) If we took the time to make a mathematical comparison between the two we'll see their numbers are close to each other.

AJ vs Manning in stats is virtually a draw.

Now, add titles ...

{I cringe a little thinking about the possibility he does the same thing with running backs.}

With RB, it will be a three way race, others need not apply, Bo, Herschel and Henry. Even though Henry now has the SEC records, I would still lean to Herschel with a slight edge over Bo, who has a slight edge over Henry. Of course, if you count NFL stats, then you could throw in Emmitt and if you just go off raw talent, Bo wins easily. Bo and Namath are the two most talented SEC athletes ever, all around with Herschel just a step behind.

Herschel at 50 plus years old would kick the crap out of those guys at his age in life right now. He ran track, Olympic bobsledder, multiple blackbelt, and MMA fighter. I wouldn't discount his athleticism, because even now he's still in so much better shape than fatass Bo.

Not talking about what athletes they are now, hell Namath has to waddle. I am talking in their prime. Bo was great at every sport he tried. Herschel never had the devastating injury that Bo had, so yes he could stay in shape easier. I ranked Herschel as my best SEC RB ever though, ahead of Bo. They are both a small step behind the best college RB of all time in Barry Sanders.

It's a QB tournament so RBs shouldn't get any votes. If they do, it's even more screwed up.

Piss poor list! You want to go by conference titles or national titles or stats? 6 won Heisman trophies. Didn't Joe or Kenny get a Natty?
Namath had a knee issue in 64 and shared some starts with Steve Sloan on that NC team. Sloan was the starter on the 65 NC. Stabler was the starter for the undefeated 'uncrowned champions' of 1966.

It all depends on your criteria, but as a college QB Jay Barker had a better record as a starter than many of these nominees, quarterbacked the 92 NC , and had a brilliant season in 94 spoiled only by a loss to Florida in the SEC CG.
