".....Facing high travel demand, airlines are cutting back on the number of planes and crews available to charter, leaving colleges and some pro sports leagues scrambling. Jennifer Bulla, who manages travel for Ohio State, spent ā€œa sleepless weekā€ after United Airlines canceled its agreement to fly the Buckeyes in 2017 and 2018. (It has since reconsidered.) Other teams are taking the bus to places they once flew."

AND THE ANSWER! Buy your own plane!

"West Virginia University, which moved to the Big 12 Conference in 2012, is now 850 miles from Iowa State, its closest league rival. ECU’s four conference road games this upcoming season are at Central Florida (650 miles), Houston (1,300 miles), UConn (650 miles) and Memphis (850 miles)."

Iowa State is the closest at 850 miles but Central Florida and UConn are closer at 650 miles? Does this cause it to be classified as fake news?

Lease vs buy. The problem with leasing, what happens with the airplane the rest of the week.

TCU actually moved the right direction, the Mountain West was terrible on travel distances, the Big XII makes much more sense for them.

Iowa State distance is from WVU. UCF and UConn distances are from ECU.

They're SouthWest.

Since when? Delta flew them to Tampa.

Team delivered safe and sound
The Tide was greeted warmly in Tampa with wonderful weather and a great reception. It was a little weird with pirates greeting college football players, but I get the whole theme. The team was their normal focused self. This is a business trip for them. They've been down this road before.

It was a little hard as the reality of the last game, the last time some of these guys will don the crimson uniform hit a few of us. It even hit one of the players. Can't even tell you how much some of these young men have impacted me, and I'm such a tiny part of the process.

This is a special group of young men, and they will give it their all for the last time on Monday night. We are blessed to be from Alabama! Roll Tide!

And back from Tampa.

Re: Team delivered safe and sound
Well I've never flown the Tide home after a loss until today. And I must admit I don't ever want to repeat it. It was a completely somber flight home. Some were more emotional than others. Some were just emotionless. I don't know that it had even hit them by this morning. I tried my hardest to let them know how much I (and the Crimson Tide nation) appreciated the season and all their hard work. I'm not gonna lie this one hurts. I'm sure if they could go back and redo a few plays they would, but it just doesn't work that way. I hope by this time next year we're the ones celebrating yet again. I don't like this side of things.
