🏈 Eyabi Anoma

I think it may have been that he didn't have the impact that so many thought he would have and he has gotten discouraged. He "tweeted" out a message about "making a decision and sticking to it." Then, multiple people started responding as to what he meant. One even asked about "transferring." He replied with a resounding "No!"

I posted this on the other Oklahoma thread, but I know his social media the last week or so has shown him in the hospital with his family. Not sure if it was his momma or grandmomma, but I think he has dealt with a death recently. Could be wrong on the death part, but a post eluded to something like that on Instagram.

I believe he only started football in like 11th grade, so the expectations thrown on him were absolutely ridiculous. The coaches saw something when they recruited him and he did enough to see some decent time this season considering everything that was in front of him on the depth chart.

I expect he is homesick and this deal could go either way. Hope he makes the best decision for himself. I can relate to that homesick stuff since it hit me at Livingston in 68 and I was only 90 miles away........LOL.......I didn't want to mention my sweet cakes but you get the picture.

I hope all works out for this kid. Watching him play what little he played this year he looks like he could be a very versatile LB. I remember thinking his "twitch" speed was pretty impressive. IIRC he had one tackle in the backfield where he almost beat the QB to the RB for the handoff.

from BOL.....

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- Alabama freshman linebacker Eyabi Anoma was not spotted out on the Thomas-Drew Practice Fields on Monday as the Crimson Tide continued its preparation for No. 4 Oklahoma and the Capital One Orange Bowl semifinal (Saturday, Dec. 29, at 7 p.m. CT).

Following the fourth of seven bowl practices in Tuscaloosa, Nick Saban provided an update.

“I haven’t really had the opportunity to visit with him,” Saban said in a press conference. “He kind of had a personal day, I guess, to sort some things out. Hopefully, we’ll be able to get him back on track here soon.”

During Monday’s practice session, Anoma tweeted this:

Made a decision and will stick by it

Someone responded to Enoma’s tweet with “Transfer possible?” and the freshman simply tweeted, “No.”
