• The Raiders did comment on the story, but the statement is...well, harsh.
• I had to cringe a bit with his wife defending him. Reminds me of the fired Auburn assistants calling radio shows defending their unemployed husbands.

On a side note, saw BJ Coleman walking around Chattanooga last night, almost gave him a big Go Vols shoutout or Lane Kiffin Rocks, to see his reaction, but decided against it.

That guy is a clown. I'm so tired of hearing about this guy. If Lame, Lance, or any of the other clowns that are coaching over there think that our classes are because of Lance they're in for a surprise.

The only thing Lame and his coaches are good at is running their mouths and once the games start everybody will realize that simple thing.

I wondered about this because I had seen a few posts mentioning it being another secondary violation.

Did ESPN set him up? Or, was it a test to see if he actually knew the rules?

Espn said they had contacted the ncaa about the photage they had on the air and said that as soon as it aired they would contact UT and let them know. They said on the air that the NCAA was very interested in the footage and would be watching this morning to see. ESPN said flat out it was a rules violation.

During the piece aired Sunday morning, Kiffin is seen talking with recruits in his office. The NCAA rule book states that media members cannot observe recruiting contact by coaches.


At the end of the story, ESPN's Bob Ley said, "The NCAA is reserving comment until the story airs, so we look forward to hearing from them today."


University of Tennessee is aware of the incident and is looking into it.


If UT does report this incident to the NCAA, it will the sixth secondary violation since Kiffin became head coach.


Kiffin discussed the school's previous violations in the story by saying, "If you really study recruiting violations, minor violations, they happen very often at a lot of places, unfortunately, and so you can't do everything right. Sometimes you make a mistake, and nothing that we've done has been set out to do something against the rules or on purpose."


Part of the ESPN story also focused on Kiffin's short tenure with the Oakland Raiders. Kiffin was the head coach for 14 months, before being fired by owner Al Davis.


ESPN obtained a statement from the NFL organization in regards to Kiffin.


"Lane Kiffin is a flat-out liar. He lied to the team, he lied to the fans, and he lied to the media. He will try to destroy that university like he tried to destroy the Raiders, and will eventually clash with (Pat) Summitt and (Bruce) Pearl. Other than that, the Raiders can say nothing further."

Lane Kiffen is just absolutely positively begging for the butt whippings his teams are going to get this year. Coach Meyer runs up the score, Coach Saban usually does not -- but I am willing to be he will this year against UT.

That is a pretty harsh statement from the Raiders. I mean, I know they parted badly, but DANG!! :lol:
