was some what interesting. The program relived the rise of the so called "U". They talked about the swagger, brashness and total disregard and disrespect of opponents that the Hurricanes had. They talked about the coaches, players, bowls so and so forth yadda, yadda, yadda !!! One thing conspicously absent was the a** whipping that Alabama put on those Jerkoffs from Miami............hmmmm........wonder why ???? Why not explain how a Heisman Trophy winner is made to look so bad that he drops to what ??? The 6th or 7th round in the draft ???? I don't blame the "Sugar"Cane thugs for leaving that little bit of info out because what we did to the Canes in that game would be akin felonious assault in most
states. Its been 17 years and I still revel in the fact that we took their manhood that night and ended their domination. Yo ESPN, 30 for 30 that you chumps !!!!!!!!!:a:

I wasn't aware of just how bad the "U" actually was, and I can now fully understand why the 92' NC was so big. To make it even more laughable, they had countless players comeback and relive it during the documentary. Every single one of them had a glow of how "bad" they were back in the day. Well I guess they didn't realize how football is really suppose to be played, with honor and respect.

It's of my opinion that they were nothing but thugs allowed to play football, and their "rein over football" is nothing but a dirty reminder of how bad they really were. Congrats Miami, you were as classless as they come.

I've always loathed "Da U". They took thuggishness to a new level. I loved it when we beat them for the NC and when Penn State dogged their butts a few years earlier. When they did beat us, at least it was only by 8 points.

I was dissapointed that they didn't show the BAMA beatdown of those punk-a$$ed clowns. That was really the only reason I was watching the program to begin with. :headscratch::frown:

I refused to watch when I heard it was from 80 something up to 1991. I knew right then the director "forgot" to add that season!

Clowns is the exact word for them.

The only part I really liked about it was when they showed Penn State's d tearing them a new one in the Fiesta bowl. I kept hoping they would show the 93 beat down when they start talking about the 90's too. Nothing at all redeemable about that program; it's sad that Kiffen seems determined to turn UT into the next Miami. i was at the 93 sgar bowl and I remember some pretty rude miami fans; Sweet home Alabama blaring from every other corner bar on bourbon street made up for that tho:).

Wow. Being born in '89 I never realized what the '92 game meant. Now I do. I have a deep disdain for the University of Miami now. That was the most angering piece of work I've seen in awhile. The utter disrespect for the game was unbelievable. I never thought I could get this mad over something like this, but I'm fuming right now. Their arrogance and disrespect for what football is meant to be is unbelievable.

as thugish as they seemed in the documentary, they really only skimmed over a lot of the thug/criminal activity that was going on with a lot of their players.... and yes they also forgot to mention the NC loss to bama, as well as a number of losses to their instate rival, FSU (the documentary made it seem as though they hammered FSU every time)

That was dissapointing for sure .that was the Only reason i watched
the U because i knew that was going to be the big ending .NOPE
If you havent watched it ,you should .The younger guys on here will get a better understanding how college football was run in the late 70&80s

I didnt think they would go so indepth with what was really going on down at the U,but they did.

The mentality of the players seeing how they brought the U national attention and wealth was the most educational part for me.

And dont think some of that stuff aint going on anymore .It is.
Oh by the way what was up with ''bernie'' man he talked and looked rough

Im just saying if your a college football fan ,you need to watch this.
You will have a better respect of the NCAA and infractions commitees ,and people who try to make the game of college football RESPECTABLE.

I used to have a lot of respect for Jimmy Johnson too, but after seeing his lack of respect for his own university and university president I have lost it.

Jimmy Johnson and even the players kept talking about how much money they were bringing to the university and felt like the university "owed" them. Well, I guess they forget that the university was already giving them a free education and a springboard into the NFL where they would earn untold millions and all the university wanted them to do was to conduct themselves in a manner that brought pride and respect to the university instead of disdain and contempt.

Oh well, they just don't get it. I guess you can take the thug out of the hood but you can't take the hood out of the thug when even the coach doesn't think it's important.

Shame on Jimmy Johnson, and kudos to the "stuffy" then-president Foote for trying to rein-in those thugs. :a:

I didn't waste my time on watching it. I've never cared for them and never will. The U, should have been Thug U.

Same here. I don't support propaganda and biased garbage like that. I knew they would not talk about the CRUSHING of their thugish, ghetto school at the hands of a classy bunch of Alabama players from the REAL south.

Amen.

Same here, but I thought it was a good show. I'm on U fan, but it was well done and give the U credit they came from nothing so don't be hating guys. They had there run and then they ran into the TIDE and game over! :a: Besides is TENN not the new THUG U?

I was going to add something but it appears the great posters on here has completely covered the topic. As ya'll said, they just so happened to avoid the '92 game. ..................A team with that many INDIVIDUALS will always fall from within. It was a shame they even tried to glorify it. It was the way NOT to play a team sport.....never let truth get in the way of perception I guess :>)

Being that young, you may not know who Luther Campbell of 2Live Crew was. That guy and his crew were some of the nastiest mo-fos on the planet. Their rap was so degrading, inflammatory and nasty they were actually banned in the U.S. at one point. They had a lot to do with the advisory labels you see on CD cases these days.

That whole program and everything around it was out of control on a whole nother level.

I got a glimpse of who he was from those interviews and I don't like it. I hate the whole rap scene these days. Luther Campbell with all those comments in his interview made me just so mad. Never thought I could get worked up about a film about football 20-30 years ago.
