šŸˆ ESPN SEC position rankings: Running Backs—Tide leads the way.

----------

Today, we continue our look at each position in the SEC by checking out quite the loaded group: Running backs.

SEC games are won and lost in the trenches, but the league has always poked its chest out from the running back position.

This season is no different, as the league is once again loaded here:

1. Alabama: The Crimson Tide might have the nation’s best backfield. T.J. Yeldon enters the 2014 season with 2,343 career rushing yards and 26 touchdowns, while sophomore Derrick Henry, who might be the most talented back on the roster, excels as a bruiser and a cruiser with his pounding frame and elite speed. Junior Kenyan Drakeprovides a nice change-of-pace with his elusiveness, and the Tide will grind away with mammoth Jalston Fowler.

2. Georgia
3. UofSC
4. Arkansas
5. Texas A&M

#6 - #14 here...

Bama 1, Jawja 2. That should be a no-brainer. Glad he mentioned Fowler in his Bama preview. Something about that list though...LSWho? at #7. Aschoff didn't mention Fournette (He mentioned Roc Thomas for the barn). Fournette alone makes LSWho? better than #7 on this list. Sad commentary about Florida: RB is their deepenst position, and they're only ranked #8 in this list. It's going to be another long season in Gainesville.

Fowler looked much faster on A-Day, might contribute more in the passing game. If Yeldon and Drake can fix their fumbling issues, then the sky is the limit. Time to bring back the jumbo packages, bring Grant Hill in as a 6th lineman, and run it with Henry. If the defense can't stop it, keep feeding the beast. Got so pissed off last year when they would go away from the run when the defense was clearly fatigued. Minus the 4th down stop in the red zone vs the barn, they couldn't stop Yeldon. Yet on times, they would the same old stuff. Run up the middle, throw on 2nd and 3rd down. Stick with your strength and occasionally throw it to Coop or White when you see the defense creeping up. The '08 and '09 team had this game plan and it worked to perfection. LSU did it in '11 until they ran into one of the best defenses of all time.
