šŸˆ ESPN reports on Ohio State--a story that hasn't gone quietly in the good night.

what's really sad is, when he returns to coach, if he keeps winning, the fans will forget all about anything else that happened or why he was suspended in the first place. hell, they'll forget about what about a piece of shit one of the assistants was and how he committed felonies.

all they care about are the Ws...no matter the way in which they get them.

The large majority already don't care. They didn't want him suspended or punished at all.

He's so full of s***...anyone with half a brain sees him for the phony he is...

To recap, Urban didn’t fire Zach Smith because he didn’t think there was domestic violence. Now in a Twitter statement, he apologizes to the woman for being abused...lol

Let's see how he sounds when he is standing at the podium having to answer the hard questions...

@ComeOnSon, I fear we're going to see more than a handful of those on GameDay. I hope not. But, I also don't trust a segment of fans riding this as long as they can.

On Dari and Mel this morning:

Dari: "If anything, this has proven that Urban Meyer is bigger than The Ohio State University."
Mel: "If he'd been suspended six games, instead of three, we wouldn't be talking about him this morning."

Is Dari correct? It sure seems so. Is Mel? Uh. No.

Ohio State's investigation into Urban Meyer's knowledge of Zach Smith's alleged domestic abuse and other issues stemming from the former wide receiver coach's time at Ohio State may be over, but there could be more issues stemming from the independent investigative group's findings.

In the public findings released by the university on Wednesday was a section detailing a trip to a strip club by Smith on a recruiting visit in 2014. With him were another Ohio State football coach and one or more high school coaches. A potential NCAA violation could come from the fact that at least one high school coach was with Smith, according to the report.

While the other Buckeye coach was not named in the report, Letterman Row's Austin Ward is reporting that it was current Texas coach Tom Herman who worked as the Scarlet and Gray's offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach from 2012 to 2014. What makes this interesting is that according to college football writer Jeff Snook, it was Herman who tipped off Brett McMurphy to look into Smith for the story that led to the investigation into Meyer. Herman has since denied that. It was also reported that the Herman family, who were close with the Smiths during their time at Ohio State, loaned money to Zach's now ex-wife, Courtney, the one who accused him of domestic abuse.

Here are the findings from Ohio State's report that brought this strip club incident to light:

In May 2014, in connection with an out-of-town recruiting trip to Florida, Zach Smith ran up a significant bill at a local strip club along with another OSU football coach and one or more high school coaches:
(i) according to an iPhone screen-capture of a checking account statement dated May 8, 2014, Zach Smith spent approximately $600 of his personal funds at a Miami strip club on May 8, 2014;
(ii) Brian Voltolini was aware of the strip club visit during a Florida recruiting trip and that a high school coach or coaches were present;
(iii) Coach Meyer became aware of this incident, although he maintains not the amount of the expenditure, and reprimanded Zach Smith, warning him that if it happened again, he would be fired; Coach Meyer also revised the 2014 Coaches' Manuel to include a "morality clause" instructing staff to "[a]void stripe clubs or venues that would embarrass the Ohio State University" and prohibit "pornography ... on any university issues computer, phone, iPad, etc." Coach Meyer did not, however, report this incident to Athletic Compliance. We have provided the information obtained by the Independent Investigation of this incident to the Office of University Compliance and Integrity and the Athletic Compliance Office to investigate whether this conduct violated the NCAA legislation. We found no evidence that AD Smith was aware of this incident.

Ohio State spokesman told Ward he "was unaware of any details beyond what was included in the six-person, independent panel looking into Smith’s past as part of the investigation into Urban Meyer." Herman did not respond to request from Letterman Row for comment.

It was announced on Wednesday that Meyer would be suspended for the first three games of the 2018 season, while athletic director Gene Smith was also suspended from Aug. 31 to Sept. 16 for his involvement.

Report: Texas Longhorns coach Tom Herman was unnamed staffer with Ohio State Buckeyes Zach Smith at strip club

I aggre 100% on the memes/signs and I think this particular one is just the beginning. DV is not funny but I do think stuff like this does serve a purpose in pointing out the absurdity of anyone thinking Meyer didn’t, at a minimum, sit quietly while a woman was abused by her spouse.
Also agree, Dari is correct and Kiper is Kipering.

Brent McMurphy is on record saying it's his opinion Urban will not coach next year. That meltdown would be E P I C.

:popcorn2:

"So he was at Florida for six years; he left because he said he had heart issues. He's been at Ohio State six years, and now he says he has memory issues. I just think that he wants to get out of dodge, if you will, before things come forward. Which again, for the rest of the season, whatever information comes out about Zach Smith it isn't going to make Urban look any better. There's nothing that could come out about Zach Smith at this point that's going to put Urban in a better light. The one nightmare scenario for Ohio State, and if you bring Urban Meyer back that's fine, but if you do you have to worry about in the next day, in the next week, in the next month that other embarrassing and damaging information will surface. And if does, not only is Urban Meyer gone, but Gene Smith and president Michael Drake. So I'm sure that's why Urban, I don't believe, will return to Ohio State in 2019."

In so many words that's about what Herbie said this morning.

So Zach and his family are the victims? Lynn... I read her post that everyone else is to blame, that's a red flag.

OMG the comments to her post. Why does Lynn think setting the record straight on social media is beneficial?

Why does Lynn think setting the record straight on social media is beneficial?
On a related note...Zach's tweets yesterday were described by Pat Forde as a "train wreck." He tweeted, paraphrasing, "if you're wanting to watch a train wreck in real time, visit Smith's Twitter feed."

Which brings me to my point. It's my opinion, a pet peeve if you will, that these types of tweets/posts don't do anything but ruin the message. And, in my eyes, does the same for credibility.

Yes, I'm likely nit-picking, but even realizing that it doesn't change my perception.

"Silence = over. I tried," Smith said on Twitter. "I can't watch [clowns in the media] continue 2 run their mouths-not only w/o knowledge but w/ complete disregard 4 my children. Their mother had plenty of disregard 4 them in this. Time 4 u all 2 face the damage ur causing."
IF a person wants to be taken seriously, take the one second it requires and type "to" instead of "2," it's not that hard to type "is" versus "=," and elementary spelling leads to "you're" instead of "ur." (Does the last one deserve a break? After all, your and you're can be confusing, right? :think: )
