šŸˆ ESPN reportedly willing to pay SEC more to add ninth game to college football schedule

Removing lesser teams from the schedule will remove lesser teams from college football. The Arkansas States of the world rely on the paydays from Alabama and other schools to keep their football programs, and other sports, afloat. If the SEC moves to a 9-game schedule, expect many schools to drop some sports.
Nil is gonna do a seismic shift in how some move forward ....teams such as Arkansas States.... anyway

There may be some that ...get back to....playing whoyou recruit....for kids that just wanna play football at college level...

I'm looking forward to all of these great nonconference home/away series. I don't think they'll survive if we go to nine conference games.
There's no reason to play some of these games.

'26: Drop WVU. FSU is coming to town.
'27: Again, dropping WVU because OSU is on the schedule.
'28: Drop Okie State, OSU is on the schedule.
'29 Drop Okie State, ND is on the schedule
.30: Drop GT, ND is on the schedule

Based on competition today, and well, history, :31 is weak OOC.

A nine game SEC schedule and two Power conference teams. No. That makes absolutely no sense at all.

If for no other reason, the team will be beaten the hell up worse than any other team in the playoffs. It all started when they have three SEC power teams permanently on the schedule.

You need to step away from the tree and see the forest.

It's not what you want, it is what the teams will need.

Sure hope powers to be. See it differently than u.

And there is already a difference in scheduling. Between conferences. So what.

Hey. If they dont make CFPs. Always go to a bowl which some like

If there is 9 game sec schedule. Gonna complicate out NC schedules. Which are presently preferable over 9 game sec.

I've never suggested anything of the sort.

You'll notice the original post in this thread from X ... the guy said he was in favor of four, but now he has regrets.

What is happening now is EXACTLY what was said was going to happen. To the letter.

Should be no surprise. Really. And moving to 16 wont shock anybody
Money money money.

As basketball moved up n up n up

Get people n money n players.

But still ...CFPs better than bowls ( i watched several cfp games and 1 bowl...part of another ). Was first year and very interesting. And the fact that there wasnt a lot of thrillers....no shock. See how year 2 goes...

And you can call herpes a VD and it's still the same thing. Adding "playoff' to a game does nothing to improve the product. It just reels in lemmings.

Well. Moving past the VD part

It actually does add something to the product. Winner lives to fight another day ( until final game).
Loser goes home.
As in any single elimination championship situation

See how year 2 of expanded cfp go

If the SEC was any other conference, adding a ninth game wouldn’t be a big deal. But when you’re a conference with multiple potential CFP teams, adding another conference game increases the odds of another loss. Another loss means you’re less likely to make the SECCG and less likely to make the playoffs
