Thing here in the FOOTBALL FORUM have been slow, quiet if you will. Quiet also describes the football community with respects to trash talking.

I work around quite a few Florida fans and one would think they would be crowing all day long, but they are not when football talk comes up...at least in the presence of the resident Alabama fan. I suspect that they are seeing the writing on the wall.

With this being the second year the Bama out recruited them, along with LSU effectively, the Gator Nation may be smelling what Rock Saban is cooking. But its too late. The sleeping giant is not snoozing anymore.

Silence is a good place to be. :)

Soon tebow will be gone and urban will run off to notre dame and florida will be where they were before spurrier.

OA, I don't know about that. I believe competition brings out the best. UF got better chasing Bama. Now I am not saying Bama is better today because of UF renewed success but if you're a world class sprinter used to winning every race and suddenly some guy is on your shoulder step for step, don't you tend to run harder?

Meyer might leave for Notre Dame, but if that happens, Florida will in a situation to pull almost any coach they want.

UF will not be where they were before Spurrier for a long, long time.

Tebow will be gone soon, and he is a unique, shaping force, but the fact that Florida has been a force in the HS football power-house state of Florida means that they will get quality recruits regardless...maybe not Top 3 caliber, but solid.

As for Urban, for him to go to ND would require them to pay the remainder of Charlie's contract AND enough money to out bid Florida for his services. I don't see that happening for several years to come...for monetary reasons. If it does happen, it will put ND on a level unthought of by the other giants in College Football.

Domination by the SEC won't do it alone. To run off Urban will take time and having someone in the east threaten them, and I don't see that happening.

At one time I had heard he wanted to have a run in the NFL? Of course maybe he took a look at this years openings in the NFL. Guys with Super Bowl rings being replaced. Then again, guys in the NCAA with NC rings being replaced. Ahem...not Tuberville. Looks like the money has caught up and everybody wants microwave success. When or if the position opens it's an attractive job. State is loaded with athletes and as bad as I hate to say it they have won NC in football 2 out of what 3 years and they toss in a good basketball program. Thats solid. It's a top flight job at the present.....if it opens. For some reason I feel even with Tebow gone they are the program to deal with for the next few. In fact, I plan on seeing them again in Dec! Not sure when we pick them up for reg season play again but when we do......plan on packing a lunch.

Unless of course they some how make a bad hire. :D
