Alabama cornerback Eddie Jackson reported through Twitter on Monday that rehab on his surgically repaired knee is going well.

Jackson, a sophomore, needed minor surgery from a non-contact injury before a scrimmage during spring practice. He went up for a ball and came down wrong.

ā€œI Start Running Soon Can’t Wait,ā€ he wrote.

Coach Nick Saban said last week the recovery has gone smoothly and he expects Jackson to ready by the time the season begins.

ā€œHe’s not full speed,ā€ Saban said last week. ā€œHe’s not been released to do football-related type activity yet. We’re encouraged by the rehab. He’s working really hard and doing a good job.ā€

Jackson was considered the top cornerback on the team by Saban at the time of the injury. He played in seven games as a true freshman and had 19 tackles, an interception and two pass breakups.
