🏈 Eddie Jackson out for the year with broken leg

I'm assuming it will be Tony Brown who steps in... Simply because Saban isn't big on moving multiple guys around to fill a spot. Hootie has been at Money and it seems like we are in dime quite a bit this season. Looks like he's finally getting comfortable there too...

Either way, physically, the spot will be filled with a stud. But Eddie's confidence, mentality, and leadership won't be replaced. He's been amazing the last 2 seasons. Such a bummer to see a guy playing so well and have this happen.

Which begs the question - Is it worth the risk of having your best defensive back return punts when you have so many great athletes on the sideline? I've personally come around to liking the studs having special teams roles... But I can see the argument to rest them as well... Especially when you see a guy like Mack Wilson who's only focus is special teams and he's doing a great job with it. Either way, tough break. RTR

Tony Brown is a stud athlete. He's played in this defense for over 2 years. He had better get ready. It's time for him to show up for us - and not with the 'try to shove him down' tackle he tried on one play vs A&M. Still, I'll take Allen's endorsement of TB any day! He has 2 weeks to get serious and get ready to help this D. Next man up!

We don't know the details (which bone(s), type of break), but the playoffs are 8+ weeks away. That's a lot of healing time.

About three years ago Eddie had a stress fracture, or something like that, in the same leg. He had surgery and they inserted a rod.

It's been explained to me that if it was a Greenstick fracture he could make it back for the playoffs. It's a spiral which takes from four to six months to heal correctly and it's believed to be directly related to the rod.

Pretty much what I told my Dad last night. He asked about the fracture and I told him that if it was a spiral, Eddie is done until Pro Day. Any other type and he has a shot to make it back in December.

A Bama fan on Finebaum said he met Eddie Jackson's parents at the hospital in the elevator. They told him he was going to be fine. Was a simple break and the healing time would be 6 to 8 weeks. Would love to have Eddie pull a Kenyan Drake and get back for the post-season, but if not, I'm glad he should be good to go at the combines.
