I saw a draft projection this morning and a few things caught me eye. As expected, Dre (Redskins), Barron (Jets), Upshaw (Cowboys) and Trent (Bengals) are all first rounders. Hightower is also projected in the first round, I'm happy for him though after reading some opinions here it seemed like he may have slipped. They had Trent outside of the top 15 and I just don't see that happening.

the one i saw had Trent going to the dang Browns, his wallet would rather that top 10 pick but it may be better for his career if he did slip outside of that 15 spot but i just dont see it. they've (experts) said many times that u just dont take Running Backs in the top 10 anymore except for those few exceptions to the rule (i.e.: McFadden and Adrian Petterson) and Trent is one of those exceptions. i think Dont'a's really gonna raise his stock at the combine.

Hightower is a great player, the only concern is his knee and whether he will get all of his speed back but I'd take him in the 1st.

I'd be shocked if Trent falls out of the top 10-15. He's the most complete back to come out in years. Strong as hell, good speed and vision, excellent receiver out of the backfield and good blocker. What else can a team ask for?

Not just a bias opinion here, but Trent is the most complete back in the draft bar none. I have seen him projected to the Browns, Dolphins, Buccaneers, Chiefs, Bengals, and even the Cowboys. It would be neat to see him in New Orleans with Ingram.

Would be cool but wont happen... they had a pretty good running game this year despite Ingram being gone most of the time. But maybe they need a good inside LB like Hightower?

I really hope trent doesnt go to a crappy team. I thought last years draft was great sending Julio and Ingram to good teams and if the Bills ever realize that the season is 16 games long they wont be bad either. I think the OPs original suggestions of Dre to the Skins and Barron to the Jets is spot on but I think Upshaw goes to the Eagles. Who knows where trent goes because so many teams need a good back- dolphins, bucs, browns, rams, Jags (would be a nice plug in with MJD).

I really cant wait to see trent at the combine. Should we place some over/under bets on how many times he throws up 225? Im betting he breaks the record for RBs and i dont even know what the record is.

And terry, who is turning heads at the senior bowl? And any word on how Smelly and Vlachos are doing there?

Here's Don Bank's Pre Super Bowl Mock Draft: Has 5 BAMA players going in the first round.

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/20...mock-draft/index.html?eref=sihp&sct=hp_t11_a2

Dre - 8th - Carolina Panthers
Upshaw - 10th - Buffalo Bills
Barron - 16th - New York Jets
Trent - 17th - Bengals
Dont'a - 32nd - Patriots

Yikes if the Pats end up with Dont'a, the rich get richer...

no way Trent falls to 17 tho, no way in any shape, form, or fashion...

The Barron & Upshaw picks seem spot on to me tho... Rex Ryan defenses are incredibly aggresive, especially the Safety's, and they were desperately lacking at one of those safety spots this year... Barron would fit like a glove on paper with that D but it would prolly be a HUGE culture shock comin from a Nick Saban coached Bama to that mess they have in New York right now...

3-4 defense with Marcell at one of the DE spots in Buffalo, I think Courtney would feel right at home at the JACK for them.

If I by remember when the research of the world wakes up I'll ask about Brad. His name hasn't come joining conversations lately.

Will's story is simple. We all know it already.

He's short. Strong. Interview situations and knowing the game? He impresses. Huh e was diagnosed with an illness the other day. I haven't had time to reasoning it in full detail.

Supposedly Brad Smelley has def. turned heads this week and was making crazy catches all week, check out draftcountdown.com, he covers the Senior Bowl every week and does daily roundups. He gave Vlachos the "worst body award" at weigh ins but said he was surprised at his effectiveness.

I could certainly see Smelley having a successful career in the pro's...he just needs to be put in the right situation. Runs good routes, and has great hands...not the someone that is going to wow you with his blocking ability, but certainly no slouch in that category either.
