Many nights I sat up and listened to him and Skip Carey call the Braves. Definitely one of the best and I did enjoy his voice and game analysis.

Grew up listening to Skip and Don call Braves games every summer. Fresh cut grass, cold coca cola, and Braves on the radio = perfect summer afternoon

Sorry to read this about Mr. Sutton. I remember when the Braves played in the NL West and had to face the tough Dodgers and Reds every year. Sutton was an excellent pitcher for the Dodgers, Astros and Angels. He may have played for Oakland briefly but I cannot remember off the top of my head. Loved him when he came on TBS with Skip, Pete, Ernie and Joe. He always brought great insight to the game.

On a side note, I also remember back in the old days when teammates actually fought. He and Steve Garvey got into a dandy while both played in LA.

Was it him or Skip that used to say the attendance at Fulton Co. stadium is 44,500 with 40,000 of those dresses as empty seats?

I read somewhere that when he was in HS, he only lost 1 game in his career and it came in a 1-0 loss to Foley HS. The winning pitcher that day, a lefty by the name of Ken Stabler. RIP to a legend!!
