🏈 Does Weis need BCS berth to keep job?

Let's run a hypothetical here for a minute using their anticipated nine win season this year and last years BCS at-large invitations.

Alabama - we know the ranking, story, etc.
Texas - we know this story as well.
Utah - same situation as the first two.
Ohio State - finished 9-3 in the regular season.

IF we had the same situation at the end of this season, but also had a BCS bowl eligible Notre Dame, what team gets bumped from the at-large bid?

I think so. He`s been there now, what, 5 years? Notre Dame has fallen off the football map with him. Losing to Navy for the first time since the stone age didn`t help either. I would say losing three or more games this season may put the nail in the coffin for him.

hell, i would argue that they were irrelevant many years before he showed up.

one would think it would take a miracle for him to stay around after this season. there are a few head coaches that come to mind when I personally think about the difference between college and pro ball...granted, he was never the HC in the NFL.

Sept. 5 NEVADA
Sept. 12 at Michigan
Sept. 19 MICHIGAN STATE
Sept. 26 at Purdue
Oct. 3 WASHINGTON
Oct. 10 Open Date
Oct. 17 USC
Oct. 24 BOSTON COLLEGE
Oct. 31 vs. Washington State (at San Antonio, Texas)
Nov. 7 NAVY
Nov. 14 at Pittsburgh
Nov. 21 CONNECTICUT
Nov. 28 at Stanford

Not a world beater of a schedule, but you look at cinch losses at USC, likely losses versus BC and Michigan State. 9 wins against the other 9 clubs isn't much of a resume for a BCS game. It would be tough to take them over say Cal or Ohio State with the same record.

Just sayin'.

Same case scenario, ND has 9 wins in 2009...I would not be shocked, in the least, to see them get an invite over Ohio State.

We've ragged on the Big Ten for awhile because of their record versus SEC teams. Last year, they were 1-6 in their bowl games.

Ohio State was the last one in, so I guess it would be them.
