Where will Marve go?

It's unclear if the release from his Miami scholarship came with conditions, such as not allowing Marve to transfer to another Florida school or a team on the Hurricanes' schedule in the upcoming few seasons.

Florida, Tennessee and LSU have been speculated as possible destinations for Marve, who gave no indication of where he might be headed.

"I've got to sort a lot of stuff out," Marve said.

Earlier Tuesday, Shannon told WQAM radio he would have preferred Marve stay.

Marve's decision came hours after Miami fired offensive coordinator Patrick Nix. Marve and Nix were close, but Marve's decision was not necessarily related to the coordinator's dismissal.

Porter & joe, I agree.

With the problems LSU endured with & without Perriloux, do y'all think Les Miles would consider giving Marve a shot?

Maybe 7 or 8 interceptions for TDs by the opposition might have Les willing to give this digruntled player an opportunity.

Considering our past luck with transfer quarterbacks from Miami I am glad we are showing no inteest for another reason.

Les might take him, though he'd have to sit for a year. Who knows. Lee might start figuring it out after that dreadful season.

Supposedly, LSU has a verbal from Russell Sheppard, a dual threat QB out of Cypress Ridge High in Houston. He's rated by Scout as the #3 QB in the nation.

CP, thanks for info on Russell Sheppard. Hadn't found much time to stay caught up with the rivals' recruiting, much less Bama's. Glad I have this site, mods, and posters to fall back on.

part of his release agreement stated he couldn't play for the ACC, SEC, or any team in Florida. So he's gone.

Well if this is true, FSTBACK, then it's probably "Westward ho!" I can understand the release agreement listing the ACC and maybe even Florida, but I don't see why it would bother Miami for Marve to play for another SEC team. :?

From what I was told from the guy who covers the ACC at work...

Marve and his father had reached out to two teams in the SEC. Shannon got word of it and that's why the release was granted under the conditions it was...

He can still play at an ACC school, or an SEC school for that matter. BUT, he'd have to pay his way the first year and sit out.

If it was an unconditional release (IE: Colin Peek) he could have been put on scholly but still would have to sit out a year.

The kid dug his own grave. I don't feel the least bit sorry for him.

After trashing that guys car (destroying a mirror) he gave the authorities a hard time, even when he was given community service he decided not to do "his time."

Geez, add skipping classes to the mix...

There's always Jax State.

I doubt if Marve could win a starting QB battle against Perriloux, but I bet he and Ryan could have some real fun hanging out together.

Thanks, TP, for the clarification on the SEC issue.

They both have a thing for mirrors...

Marve breaks them, Perriloux uses them...

The guy has his initials tatooed on the back of his calfs...he's obviously not the bightest.
