I've been hearing/reading about the school talking about filling the '09 schedule with a notable OOC opponent. Most of them have had to deal with scheduling Texas and when I first caught wind of it I couldn't see it happening because they had Arkansas scheduled.

BUT, then I looked over the Arkansas schedule and had to pause for a second...the term they have been using is "they are overscheduled" for the '09 season. They weren't talking about too many games, but an incredibly hard schedule dealing with Texas and Texas A&M not to mention their SEC schedule. They are scheduled to play at Georgia and Florida not to mention the West of the SEC.

Now, it appears according to the Austin papers Texas and Arkansas are looking to postpone that game.

Who knows if it comes to fruition...but, it's intriguing to think about.

As a sidenote, the negotiations had both UArk and Tx. receiving a 5 million dollar payout.

Well, since Arkansas was scheduled to play in Austin and Terry was discussing a 5 million payout. I'm guessing we would have to play at Texas...which would be unbelievably rough.

I would go for this game if it was at a neutral site. Would be a pretty sweet game honestly.

Any idea on where this game might be played Terry?

New Orleans? :?

That was a rumor going around about month. I haven't anything on it since...

This is the most confusing post that I have read in awile. In the first place, the 5 million dollar payout you speak of is to Arky and Texas A&M for a series of neutral site games in the Cowboys' new stadium. In the second place, what would the Arky schedule have to do with Bama playing Texas in 2009? Texas is open for the first week end and has only 11 games scheduled. I do not see what Arky has to do with that.
