🏈 Derrick Henry honors Altee Tenpenny with jersey number selection

Taken from Saturday Down South...

Former Alabama running back Derrick Henry will honor the late Altee Tenpenny by wearing No. 22 for the Tennessee Titans during his rookie season. According to Henry, Tenpenny told him he planned to wear the number if he ever made it to the NFL while the two were teammates at Alabama.

“Altee told me one day at practice back at Bama if he ever made it to the NFL he would wear 22,” Henry said via Instagram on Friday afternoon. “So I will make sure that dream lives on.”

seems like tenpenny made an impact of some sort in life or death to a lot of these players because Henry isn't the first to lift him up since his death .

IMO, his death just prior to the ut game had as large of an impact on Bama's performance in that game as did the fact that Bama was playing their eighth straight game with ut coming off a bye. Henry's winning TD may have been a refusal to lose in honor of Tenpenny.

Much of this year's misguided hype on ut is based on that game. It wasn't that ut was playing well enough to win the game. It was Bama playing poorly enough to lose it. Media never did grasp that fact.
