Is Alabama's 2011 defense better than the 2009 defense? That question will be asked all year long. My answer? Yes. More complete in all areas, minus Mt. Cody's spot.

Db's best in the country.
Kirkpatrick is developing right before our eyes, every game he gets better. Laying the lumber.
Menzie, Heck of a game yesterday on that interception.
Lester, just a stroll through the park. 5 tackles
Barron, 6 tackles, its expected of him, and every week he delivers, poised and ready, the most complete free safety I have seen at Alabama, Seriously. I have watched /attended many Bama games in my 45 years of being a Crimson Tide Fan and this guy goes out every play, every Saturday and delivers. One of my all time favorite Bama players now.

Lb's again, best in the country,
Hightower, a beast, may be better than McClain, but not going there yet. 4 solo tackles, 5 assist tackles, all over the field, single handly shut down that 4th down play.
Upshaw, reminds me of a 70's style Linebacker Woodrow Lowe under Coach Bryant, mean, buisness like, and will hit you.
Mosely- all over the field
Harris will be a beast, played a nice game also.

DE's
Love Jesse Williams game, got his helmet knocked off, and still went after the play. Had a nice day with 5 tackles 2 for loss.

I want to also say Vinnie Sunseri's motor does not stop, this kid is a special player, special teams he is usually in on every play, and, when he fills in on defense.

I have to mention our QB, I am pleased with McCarron and he has what it takes, Great job by him Saturday

Yes, the 2011 Bama D is FEROCIOUS!

And McCarron is progressing very nicely. Occasionally he'll make a play that shows his inexperience, but he has come a long way in four games. I'm very pleased with him.

Too soon to say, as I see it.

The weekends game reminds me of the Clemson opener a few years ago. If we can limit UF's version of "Thunder and Lightning" I'll give the point they are as good as the 08 crew. '09? That'll have to wait.

I think the D-line this year is very quietly effective. They are not as glamorous with the name recognition as the '09 line with Mt. Cody and Dareus coming up. However, Chapman is a beast and don't underestimate his strength and Jesse seems to be getting better by large steps every game. I thought he had a big game against Arky.
