I was at the 28 - 27 double o.t. game between Walker Co. and Decatur in Jasper in '77, arguably one of the best high school games I've ever seen. R.I.P. Benny.

I live in Decatur. I met him a few months ago in his locally popular restaurant. I mentioned growing up on and around campus in Tuscaloosa. That led us to talk briefly about all things Bama football. He was warm, engaging and very genuine.
