It's all about what you want. If you want a space eating 5 technique in a 34 or 43 NT, go with Dareus.

If you want a pure penetrating defensive tackle, you have to take Fairley.

Dareus can penetrate as well, but he eats blockers consistently and is the ideal 5 tech at the next level, and it helps that he's played both NT and 5 tech already at Bama. Fairley isn't a 5 tech at all, and is a pure 43 UT.
