šŸˆ Dan Patrick on Penn State's loss to UCLA. "Ryan Day wouldn't have lasted. If he did what Franklin's doing at Penn State, he wouldn't have kept..."

The difference, IMO between Day and Franklin is that Day has won a National Championship and Franklin gets embarrassed just about every time he plays a top 25 team. Day does have trouble with Michigan that the fans in Ohio still have problems with. I was talking to a friend this past Saturday and he said that he much rather beat Michigan than to win a National Championship. Franklin had done a fine job at Vandy and PSU rebuilding the programs but until he can beat ranked teams and win, he is going to be just another good but not great coach. Bama would have fired him as well.

Without knowing any buyout figures. . . . . . but Penn State should go hard for Curt Cignetti. I think that is a perfect fit.

Agree on Cignetti.

On the buyout, there is a clause that if both parties agree to mutually part ways, it would only cost $2 million (as opposed to the normal $50 million). The only way this would happen is if Franklin caught on elsewhere for money he was satisfied with, but with the temperature in the room at this point, I think it's at the very least a decent possibility. Question is, what other school is going to take a chance on him? But between him (smooth talker) and Jimmy Sexton, they'll get someone on the hook if they want to.
