🏈 damn, another close game.

It's just so damn frustrating. There isn't one leader on this team. Why is a true freshman inbounding the ball late in games always? The worst part is that this year's team will be better on paper than next year's team.

Also, let's call it what it is, a choke.

Its very frustrating to not be able to get the ball in bounds at the end, to end offensive posessions with the wrong people throwing up terrible shots as the shot clock ran down, to turn the ball over off the dribble, to miss key free throws. All of those were involved in losing winnable games against Vanderbilt, Auburn and now Florida. Some of it is that our two key players play close to 40 minutes a game and they are just gassed at the end. Some of it is that we are short of the size and talent we need to contend in the SEC. Sadly, some of it is that we don't have that one guy who can just do whatever it takes to win a game like the three I mentioned. Our assistant coach, Antoine Pettway, was like that as a player. At the end you just put the ball in his hands and know he is going to find a way to win. Maybe Releford will be that guy next season.

I can't fault the effort, but as CNS says, you've got to finish.

1st let me say that I love watching this team play. They play all out, gritty pressure defense, and hustle pretty much from tip off to buzzer.

If this team had just one guy that could hit a shot consistently from beyond 10ft from the goal, it would be a very, very good team.

On Paper, maybe. In skill and coaching, not from what I've seen. On paper, this team is worse than last year, but have played the socks off last years team. To borrow a quote "It's a process"

The job Pearson did last year is very comparable with what Grant's doing this year. I'd take this team over last year's squad too. Yeah we miss the rebounding of Gee, but Green is better and so is Torrance to a lesser extent. We also have Mitchell now. This team isn't completely void of talent by any means.

Gerald was from Childersburg right down the road. As far as I know, he doesn't have a brother but he has a cousin that goes to school in Lincoln. He is around 6-3 and 180, no where near Greralds' ability though.

I do believe that this group does have some talent , just not a whole lot. Oh I long for the days of Coach Sanderson having some go to studs coming off the bench to rest the studs on the floor.

I guess 2010 is a throw away year. No depth, no size, and a team that was never really coached under Gottfried. I'm thinking it might be like this until about 2012 or 2013. What's worse is we still have road trips to Lexington, Oxford, Athens, Starkville, Columbia and the SEC tournament, which no doubt will be a fast elimination. I just hope we beat the barn when they come to Tuscaloosa.

Coach Grant has the guys playing hard and playing D better than any team that I have seen since the Sanderson era. Even with tough rough trips coming, don't count them out. Give Coach Grant some time and he'll bring basketball back.
