šŸ“ Dakota Prukop (Montana State QB) to announce Monday between UA and Oregon

Why not make the jump if so?
Needs and wants experience in a set that's more NFL friendly. Very, very few snaps under center is one example of an area he wants to develop.

Understanding pro-set routes is something he's got a handle on ... all the way up to four verts. Pocket presence, footwook, etc,. are things he's working on.

If this is the case, why is he even considering Oregon?

In the article linked, and in other articles about his transfer, he's mentioned the success Adams had last year as one of the main reasons he's looked at Oregon: very similar career paths to date.

Oregon was on him early which is always a plus ... and then there's the point Mariotta went #2.

I'll be the first to admit skepticism as to whether or not Helfrich can handle the HC job. The question of his ability with quarterbacks isn't one up for debate. He's done well there.

Is this the Montana State qb that is rated as the fifth best qb in the NFL draft? Why not make the jump if so? And if so, that's pretty solid talent if he stays in college.

Like Terry said, he wants to learn a more NFL ready pro style offense, which from the interview I read, is the main reason hes considering Bama. But you are right it doesnt make much sense why he would want to go to Oregon if he wants to learn a pro style offense. I guess he feels Mariota's success will help him. Also, this years QB class is very, VERY weak so being the fifth ranked QB (and remember that probably doesnt include underclassmen) doesnt mean you would go in the first or second round.

As for Barnett I made sure to keep an eye on him during warm ups of the Charleston game. I know you dont get to see much but it was nice to at least get a look at him. First thing I noticed was he looks bigger than I remembered, def. bigger than Manziel and maybe not as thick as Blake Sims but def. taller. Second thing I noticed was the arm strength and how effortless it was for him to gun one in.

What I'm saying is that Oregon doesn't run anything close to a pro style offense. Mariota's main negative was that he rarely went under center and didn't have the pro style nuances down. Mariota was drafted #2 because he was a starter for many years in a successful program and had the tools to become a good pro QB. He's still learning and struggling with the pro style offense.

@OldPlayer Your point wasn't lost on me. That's what Prukop has pointed to as the reasons he's looking at Oregon.

His skill set, based on his time at MSU, seems better fitted for the Ducks. IF he does have hopes of making it to the next level, it certainly seems the Bama offense would suit him better.

I suspect that the pitch he heard from Lane was similar to the pitch Evans heard from Smart and Saban.
