🏈 D II National Championship Game North Alabama

plays today on ESPN. THE LIONS WON 3 times in a row back in the 90's with Coach bobby Wallace at the helm. Today, he is the head coach again trying to bring the trophy back to the Shoals area.

Watching two teams plod around in snow is not that exciting. Wish there was a way these championship games could be played in warmer climates or in dome stadiums

i remember being at the d2 championship game played in the North Alabama stadium, back in 1989.

i was in the band at JSU and we were undefeated going into that game. we were happy to be staying somewhat close to home for that game.

i remember stepping off the bus and it being damn cold and snowing. there were a couple inches on the field and that made for a not-so-interesting game. and nothing exciting happened for over a half.

the only points scored was a field goal in the 3rd quarter by mississippi college to give them the win, 3-0 (note: the win was later vacated).

i also remember being so damn mad at that game and the outcome. and then later forgetting most of that thanks to copious amounts of alcohol. but to this day, i can still remember that day and how damn cold it was and how pissed off we were at that game.

North Bama made a terrible turnover on the goal line and besides the weather, it's the difference in the 1st half. Nice drive for the 3-pointer.

There's like 4" of snow on field. Not the NFL with the equipment removing the accumulation. Shame weather playing such a major impact on outcome. N. AL had no chance.

The game was played for many years at Braley Stadium in Florence, AL. I believe this is the second or third year the game has been in Kansas City. When I lived in the Shoals, I attended many UNA games and several D II National Champioship games.
