Looking at the schedule and their results, I see they beat Wichita State by 7 (Bama won by ten), and they lost to Wichita State. They lost to St. Joes.

At first glance it appears as though they haven't played a very difficult schedule. I'm hoping that's why they have such a high shooting percentage. Any team that shoots that well scares me though.

I guess we'll see what happens.

Oh man, I forgot about that.

Maybe I'm being naive, but I like our chances though. Bama's had to matchup against Kentucky, Vandy, and Florida. Creighton hasn't seen anyone like that. I guess that's why the tourney is so magical. We get matchups like these.

I'm hoping that we can get past the Jays so that the team can draw upon the experience for next season. Making to the tourney, learning how to win when the bright lights are turned on, and facing a program like North Carolina all will be a strong position to build upon.

In football, we can look at a top flight defense and discount offensive numbers. But, on the other hand in basketball we have to take into account that a very productive offense can have its way with the best of defenses.

Have to agree with that, Terry. I got to watch some games this weekend, and some of those teams like Ohio State and Michigan State and of course North Carolina can really, really shoot. They get open looks quick and often then make the shots. I keep hoping they won't be getting that open three after only eight seconds is gone on the shot clock, but they get lots of open looks.

There's a good point there.

Take the first round game of the SEC tourney. First of all, we didn't match up well with South Carolina as it was. But, they did have a good game plan against us.

They had success against us when they could get off their shot within the first 10-12 seconds off the shot clock. After that, our defense slowed them down to almost a stand still.

The blue Jays are not going to be a pushover by any stretch of the imagination. The Tide will have to play 40 solid minutes of basketball. It is great to see Coach Anthony Grant, his staff and kids hard work pay off with an NCAA bid. Win and advance! RTR

It's amazing that that kid can avg 23 ppg on 60+% from the field. But they've got 4 other guys shooting 40+% from 3 along with McDermott. I haven't seen the kid play at all so I wanna see if he's legit or just a product of playing weaker competition.

I had read one article about them that was saying they were most underseeded team in the region - said they should've been a 6, had beaten a good number of top 100 teams. Article also said that Bama-Creighton was the best matchup of the first round.

Not going to be easy.

RTR,

Tim
