The last time Florida failed to score in a game, current Gators coach Will Muschamp was playing high school football, offensive coordinator Charlie Weis was working his first collegiate job as an assistant coach at South Carolina, and quarterback John Brantley hadn't been born.

On Oct. 29, 1988, Florida lost to Auburn 16-0, blanked by a defense anchored by Outland Trophy winner Tracy Rocker. The Gators have scored in every one of their 284 games since, the third-longest scoring streak in NCAA FBS history. BYU scored in 361 games from 1975 through 2003, and Michigan is on a 336-game scoring streak that started in 1984.


Florida's scoring streak outdistances the SEC's second-longest streak by six years. Tennessee has scored in 210 consecutive games since a 31-0 loss to Florida on Sept. 17, 1994.

Can you name the last team to hold us scoreless? Or, can you name the team that broke our streak of scoring in every game?

The last team to hold Bama scoreless was Auburn if I recall correctly. 2000 Iron Bowl in Tuscaloosa. I was there, Auburn won 9-0. As far as the streak of scoring in every game I'm not sure.

The loss to Mississippi State sealed my opinion—the one stated publicly—that it was time to fire Shula.

In 2000, it was the shutout by Southern Miss that did the same thing for DuBose.

No, because a vacated game didn't happen. Like that game in Jacksonville that had teams that looked like Alabama and FSU. Apparently I sat in an empty stadium and didn't see anything because both of those teams I didn't see vacated that game. Thanks NCAA I am so confused.
