I like his answer too!
Could Derrick Henry run on Alabama's defense? He answers
Derrick Henry's having quite a night at the 25th annual College Football Awards Show on ESPN.
Soon after being recognized as this year's Maxwell winner in addition to his Doak Walker honor as the nation's best running back, Henry joined the panel of Championship Drive analysts and answered a series of light-hearted softball questions.
The most direct? How many yards would the Heisman finalist manage against his own defense.
"Oh, Iām going to get mine,ā Henry said with a smirk. "Iām going to earn every yard and feel every hit I get from them."
Alabama's defense is the second-best nationally this season, giving up just 258.2 yards per game. Teams simply can't run the football on arguably the most talented front seven in Nick Saban's tenure.
Only six rushing touchdowns have been scored against the Crimson Tide and opposing ballcarriers are managing an FBS-low 2.38 yards per carry.
"Them boys are relentless," Henry said. "Fast, physical and they can bring a lot of intensity. They work hard in practice and make you want to work even harder."
