🏈 Conference realignment talk again

Would much rather have a 9 game conference slate. And no more members in the conference. It's already watered down, imo.

I'm pretty stoned right now so this might not make sense but, here goes.....
4 power conferences- SEC SWC NEC NWC
Consisting of top 80 teams in D1 or whatever its called now
arrange according to region (duh)
Each conference has 2 divisions 10 teams each
You play everyone in your division, 1 cross division game and 1 cross conference game.
Every conference has a Championship game then a 4 team play off (conference champions)
The remaining 48 lower teams are similarly placed in conferences with the goal of being the 8 highest ranked teams at years end to graduate to the Big boy conferences
The 8 lower teams in Big Boy conferences get demoted for incoming teams.
Easy Peasy = all problems solved ....I need to smoke another joint now.

You forgot about the bowl games, which are independent entities, but have conference affiliations. Those bowl games have contracts with the conferences that expire at different times and they aren't going to change them. You've also eliminated the marquee OOC match ups that people like to see because since schools have to play 10 teams in the conference, they will most certainly schedule a patsy as their only option. The lower 48 teams will most likely need to drop their football programs because they will no longer get the big paydays for scheduling 2-3 power teams.
