Iām so thankful Coach Saban brought Sark in as his OC and Iām very appreciative of the masterful job he did both years. That being said, he absolutely knows Coach Saban didnāt appreciate it when a couple of his previous coordinators left to become HCās and poached his coaching staff. CS has talked about it on numerous occasions so I assumed Sark would be so grateful for having had his career resurrected that he wouldnāt do that to the man responsible for having resurrected his career. Of course, it turns out my assumption was flat out wrong. I know this is a business but even in business an appreciation of and respect for the people who helped you advance should matter. Itās a symptom of the times I suppose ... honor means little and gratitude means even less. Anyone who thinks this doesnāt matter to Coach Saban or that he expected it and itās no big deal are wrong. Talk to anyone whoās close to him about Smartās poaching both coaches and high school prospects and theyāll tell you it not only hurt him it also royally pissed him off. Taking Flood and now Banks, whoās a tremendous recruiter, will just mean more work for Coach Saban. Heās a young 69 ... but heās still 69. It sure would have been nice for him had Sark honored him by not poaching his coaches.
