Two days ago there was no guarantee that Collin Sexton and the Alabama Crimson Tide would make the NCAA Tournament. Then the dude went into Point God mode, going the coast-to-coast in 4.4 seconds for the damn prettiest finger role to maybe ever secure a tournament bid, as Bama beat Texas A&M.

If this is the first you’re hearing of him, you’ve been sleeping on one of the most polarizing, entertaining and talented dudes to step on a court this season.

Sexton’s on-court showmanship stands out
Collin Sexton is an absolute star, destined to be an NBA lottery pick, and you are either going to love or absolutely abhor him come tourney time.

Calling Sexton a true competitor is an understatement. ā€œHe’s fist-pumping on missed free throws,ā€ the announcer said a few seconds after Sexton went around-the-world for a drop-off pass in the Tide’s upset win over top-seeded Auburn on Friday.

This is what he does, and this is why he’s an excellent teammate. He can fire anyone up in a second.

Sexton is incredibly extra
In a game in front of dozens of NBA scouts against Trae Young, the only other point guard in college basketball who could be selected over him in the draft, Sexton face-guarded him incredibly over-the-top from the second he reached half court.

After he scored his 30th point against Auburn on Friday, and checked out of a 20-point lead with four minutes to go, he started pedaling on a bike.

Sexton is extremely here to beat your team’s ass and show you how much gas he has left after it’s all over. He’ll shimmy his way down the court Steph Curry-style after a made three. He’s the kind of guy who’s ready to play in the semifinals five minutes after the quarterfinals are over. That’s the type of cutthroat competitor he is, and that’s why you, non-Alabama fan, will curse this kid out like he’s Grayson Allencome next week.

Don’t you dare try to stare him down either.

Collin Sexton is made for March Madness

If I haven’t accurately painted the picture on everything Sexton’s about just yet, let me remind you of a night in November, when the five-star recruit took on the Minnesota Golden Gophers 3-on-5 after most of his team was ejected, scored 40 points and nearly won the dang game himself.

Did I mention that he has a 4.0 GPA, according to the ESPN broadcast?

There’s always hope for Bama as long as Sexton is around. He’s how the Crimson Tide came back from a 10-point deficit at halftime to beat the SEC’s best team by 18 points on Friday, and how they won at the buzzer the day before.

Get ready for Collin Sexton to play his way into your hearts and nightmares. The NCAA Tournament was made for guys like him.
