I'd think ESPN would weigh in against it. It would detract from their over hyped signing day special.
Personally I like the idea. Those kids who really are sure can go ahead and sign then. Those that are unsure can wait. There might be a downside, as in kids being pressured to sign in the early period, and "we might not have a scholarship for you if you wait".
