I'm confused as to where this started and why it continues. His move from ESPN radio to Fox Radio hasn't meant his program's rating have taken a plunge. His radio show, even outside of the drive time slots, pulls big numbers.

Can we not shoot the messenger here? While you might not like Cowherd, his opinion on this is a salient opinion.

If you can't afford it, you shouldn't have it ... when it comes to entertainment, seems like a pretty solid view.

I am so sick of the athletes need to be paid bit. If you don't want to come and "earn" your education, then don't.

I paid 100k for my masters degree.( shouldn't have been the much, too much to explain) I am working in an absolute shit-hole to get govt money to pay my student loans off.

Students talk about the universities making millions off them.......welcome to the real world. I work for a hospital, owned by a corporation. All the folks above me make a freaking ton butt load more money than I do.......If I don't like it, I have the option of not working there.

Here is the thing that sticks in my craw...I work in the healthcare industry. I have met several sales reps that were nothing more than tackling dummies on the 92 championship team. They got a ring. Because of having that ring and having played on that team they got jobs in the health care industry as sales reps. Zero, zilch, nada healthcare experience. They all have business degrees. All of these guys make well into the 6 figures and have done so for many many years. We are talking millions at this point, and they had zero debt when they graduated school. So while they used your ass to make millions while you were a mule being ridden during your 4 years there, take the freaking "lemons" you thing you got and make lemonade. Shut up about getting paid. While I certainly believe you earn your education while at the university, you also have every thing at your fingertips you need to be successful as a student have a leg up on life when you get out. Do like those before you have done and use it to your advantage.

Pay the athlete to play? then you have NFL jr. league version. I don't even like this stipend pay. It is unequal among schools. Play for your position and play your heart out. If you win it is a great lesson to learn about life. There are tutors to help you learn, and help you with testing, so all you have to do is learn. It is not hard to understand. Yes guys like @rammerjammer have to pay a different price and guys like me can't figure out why I went to college. (I am in sales in that elite group he is referring to without a championship ring) It is hard to judge other people until you walk in their shoes. I have a friend that played for MS State that recently died. He was in constant pain with his knees and never got them fixed like they should have been. He was a great salesman and manager. Always said he was a natural born athlete.

Yes we all have opinions on this topic, but opinions are like assholes. Everybody has one and nobody thinks theirs stink.
