Colin Cowherd: Alabama is "boring" like Walmart, does not care about Derrick Henry's well-being
Colin Cowherd is back in SEC attack mode.

The FOX Sports radio host used news of AJ McCarron’s starting role in Cincinnati to stir up another southern hubbub.

Alabama quarterbacks are 0-13 in the NFL since 1987, a stat that makes Cowherd “believe the gap has been closed between the SEC” and the rest of the country.

“The quarterback play is unwatchable,” he said Tuesday.

Cowherd went on to express his disgust with the Crimson Tide.

“I find Alabama boring,” he said. “I find Alabama similar to Walmart: They’re big. They’re powerful. They squish mom-and-pops. They’re really their own economy. But they’re bland. They’re vanilla. They use their employees to build their brand, regardless of the employees’ well-being.

“You really think Derrick Henry is better served having 45 carries? You really think that’s great for him? It doesn’t matter. He’s just a replaceable part. He’s not the Heisman winner. He’s the employee of the year.”

Fans in Tuscaloosa might want to sell their car radios if Alabama doesn’t get a win against Michigan State in the Cotton Bowl.
I guess he does care about Bama fans now does he? I find he a pain in the back side to? He just has to say something bad about Alabama and Coach Saban.

Well, in that Bama QBs have only started 13 games in 28 years, I think it's safe to say the Bama QB production in the NFL is not casually related to the gap between the SEC and the rest as was the first implication of the OPs post

He works for Faux Sports. If Alabama is the Walmart of college football, he is a dirty nearly closed down and condemned convenience store that sells porn on Beta Max disc out the back door, owned by some Afghan who is funneling money to Daesh.

He works for Fox which broadcasts what conference? I don't know why anybody gets upset with what he says. He doesn't matter. He's trying to stir the pot and be controversial.

I haven't read or listened to cowherd for almost 4 years now since I got into sports radio information. He's never been a good journalist or had a solid opinion or information or source, he's just a pot stirrer who brings people to his site and journal by making outrageous statements in an attempt to incite the fan bases of teams he insults. He generally follows it up with puff pieces about teams that hate the teams he's dissing, such as Big 10/Big 12 teams so that his audience might actually grow some.

On a side not is it not hilarious to anyone else that Alabama is the biggest NFL and NCAA story at the moment? Kinda cool, we're apparently taking over NFL media now.

Cowherd is just howling into the wind, counting on ignorance to make his point. Many backs have had more carries per game - Barry Sander, Ron Dayne, etc.

McCaffery had more offensive touches per game than HTWDH and that is excluding STs touches. Stanford is a mechanistic program with no regard for player health.

Iowa gave Canzeri 43 carries the week before injury... coincidence?

Saban and Bama must be trendsetters. #winatallcosts

yeah, because reggie bush, and matt leinart are just tearing it up in the "no fun league". the only way that trash can keep any listeners at all, is to talk about bama. f--k him, he's not needed by anyone

The guy wouldn't back track from his tornado bait comments after the 2012 tornadoes. Fawk him and his bad hair dye and spray tans. Espn was right to fire him

After all he had said, it was funny that the final straw for ESPN was a comment on the Dominican education system as proof that baseball didn't require intelligence. Seemed an odd place to draw the line after years of outrageous, "please respond to me" type of comments
