🏈 Coffee Going Pro

there is a chance he just saw the writing on the wall with Ingram pushing him... there is a possibility that Coffee may not have started his senior season and would have had to split time with a couple of other backs (Ingram and Richardson/Upchurch/Griffin) and his stock would have dropped for the NFL draft.

Best of luck to him. It was great to see him play at Alabama. It makes me happy to hear his story and testimony and to know that Alabama was the school he chose.

Wow, this is completely unexpected to me. Well, whatever it is...people can be assured it's for a good reason. Coffee is a great guy with a level head, and I hope he dominates in the NFL like I know he can.

Should we need any more options, we also have a monster coming in with Mike Marrow... assuming he doesn't get moved to linebacker. Chris Jordan could always be moved back to RB as well... he was a 4-star and is physically one of the most impressive players on our team. I'm pretty confident he stays at linebacker though. Coffee was great this year, behind a great line... we will be fine without him.

I don't know who advised him that it would be good for him to enter the draft. Really don't think it is his year to go. He had a great year but one great year does not make a great Professional football player. Would do him good to stay in school and get more reps next year. I hate to see him go but also realize that we have a stable behind him. maybe that is why he is leaving. Might be scared of the open competiton in the spring.

Let's just wish him well seams like alot of bad feelings here about him leaving. We don't know his reason but sure he feels it's best for him. He maybe looking at where he stands to be drafted this year compared to where he may be next year depending on who comes out. Just like Tebow is doing. If the right QB's stay he will come out if not he will stay.

He's represented the University, his family and himself with honor. He's played through injuries and, despite sharing the ball with several other players, almost set the single season rushing record.

I'm surprised, but I hope he finds a place in the NFL.

RTR,

Tim

Best of luck to him. I hope he has a great Combine and Pro-Day and improves his stock. It is a fairly deep class of backs this year, so he is going to need a good showing.

Coffee is great and I wish him well. I really enjoyed watching him this season and wish he was returning, but this season is over and we are in our recruiting season and his leaving frees up a spot for the four and five star recruits that want to come to Bama. Roll Tide and we will be fine.

So, is money the primary reason? He's had one year as a starter and it was a very good year. I still think that he would go higher if he stuck around another year.

I get the feeling that the huge losses of the O-Line was a major factor, along with the possibility of a good sized check. Isn't the salary cap still on for the '10 draft?
