You're only confirming something I've known for years but I prefer eccentric.
Your reasoning, "untapped gold mine in the middle of nowhere" doesn't persuade me. He certainly wouldn't be in "the middle of nowhere" at USC.
In terms of the offense he runs, it's arguable he'd have a better pool to choose from and less to compete against.
Here's something to consider as well. Being USC is a private school, the leeway they have in structuring contracts with employees make it a better financial package.
Florida OC is done (not that anyone's shocked) and their OL coach, way too many sacks in 2 years.

The crazy comment was at birdman37.
His coaching jobs have all been in the South/Midwest with the exception of a brief stint as a GA in the Northwest. He's got a young family that's lived in Tornado Alley for a while now. Sure, USC is a better school, but I'll go on record to say that TAMU has deeper pockets than USC. I just don't see it happening with USC, but I could be wrong.
I heard Sumlin signed a multi-year contract with A and M sometime last week. Has anyone confirmed this? Brown, in my opinion, is done.
Coach Sumlin would be a fool to leave TAMU (SEC) for another college team. That being said, he's been getting a pool installed at his house for a few months now...its a big one.
I wouldn't live in LA, San Diego I'd reconsider again. I always have the opportunity to move back to San Diego for work, damn cost of living is why I moved outta there. LA is more expensive and I never really cared for the people up there, way too uptight (but then again, I live in Dallas...). The tax savings alone is HUGE and you can imagine this will come into play for some coaches.
That being said, yeah Terry, a $70k+ pool doesn't mean anything...it certainly isn't an anchor for anyone who flies around in an ugly ass helicopter.

So far only 1 power-conference job available, but that'll change: http://t.co/AtwDSL5StT<script async="" src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
