If you didn't have a good idea of how Saban felt about Maze' penalty for excessive celebration you'll want to pay close attention just after the 4:30 mark.

"We have to quit doing stupid stuff. No disrespect to the player that did it but when you get a penalty when you score a touchdown please act like you've been there before and act like you've got enough maturity to say 'I'm a good player, I made a good play, everyone knows it, Aight, and I don't need to do all of this bullsh*t to get a 15 yard penalty..."

We all feel the same way Coach!

Post game press conference....Virge of a tirade...funny!

I love Sabans press conferences. I'm always impressed with his ability to assess the pulse of the game and adding some levity.

I like Saban's Press Conf. He always talks about getting better and ways to improve. He isn't gonna let the team get a big head and he will keep them prepared its just up to them to take what he teaches and use it.

I like his comment at about the 16 minute mark concerning throwing the ball to move the chains in the 2nd half. We certainly seem to have become very conservative on playcalling in the 2nd half, continuing to run when they are bring 8 guys. Hopefully we can see this improve, and us keep the foot to the accelerator in the 2nd half.

Consider the series:

1st: Post pass INT to McCoy killed that one

2nd: 2nd and 12 after a loss of 2 on a passing play had us sacked for 8 yard loss leaving a 3rd and 20. Called a draw play for 15.

3rd: Got stopped on a 3rd and 1 with Ingram. (gotta admit, that isn't what we could call usual)

4th: 2nd and 4 stopped with Coffee's fumble.

5th: Completion to Walker for 4, Ingram no gain, Incomplete on 3rd and 6 to McCoy.

6th: End with Nick Walker dropping the pass and that completion would have iced the game...may have needed one more 1st down, but we were damn close.

-----

I see one bad series. The 5th.

2 series that failed can be put on the OL...sack and the lack of a good enough push to get one yard.

I don't see that play calling that bad, but lack of production/execution? I can find fault there pretty easily.

We had right at a 50/50 ratio with pass to run, didn't have any negative plays running the ball...

About that whole int issue...please tell me as bad as that was that the WR ran the wrong route. I got aggravated at JPW at 1st until thinking it through.

I know how you guys talk about throwing to a spot, and this might be an example of that. At 1st I thought it was Julio but in talking to my "neighbor" seems it was McCoy. Not bashing or blaiming - both have done a great job for us this year. Just as example of how breakdown in execution (even on just one play) can hurt us.

Exactly what happened. Appeared to me that JPW was throwing to a spot on a timing route and it looked as if McCoy got jammed and gave up on the route.

Saban even said that the middle of the feild safety intercepted it, and JPW isn't even suppsoed to be throwing to the middle of the feild if the MOFS is in the play. (16:30 of post game presser)
