Speak to that Disrespectful,Back Stabbing,Lying PAUL FINEBAUM EVER AGAIN! I can't believe the things Finebaum says about CNS trying to Discredit and turn CNS into the Lowest coach and Recruiter to have ever lived! I support CNS and I'm Thankful that Bama and The Bama Family have a man like CNS that does things the Right Way! I live in West Tn and Never Realized How Many BAMA HATERS Truly are Out There!

Roll Tide Roll!

Well, the part I heard was that he [Finebaum] wouldn't be surprised if CNS was squeezing Arie to get the pressure to Cyrus and that he wouldn't be surprised if Arie suffers if CK doesn't come here. I was disgusted by these comments as well.

What further disgusted me was the discussion on Chizik and religion. It came up that Chizik really pushes the religion thing and constantly talks about it and that Auburn is somehow especially blessed. The intimations are that Saban is not so and that as such neither is Bama; that Saban is derided in this regard because he doesn't talk about it as much and that he is Catholic. Yes, Saban is Catholic - he actually goes to the church my wife and I go to. Finebaum took up for Chizik on this saying he thought it was genuine.

It's a shame that in some people's minds Catholics aren't considered "Christian enough" but it wouldn't surprise me in the least if that has come up more than once with people trying to find reasons to put down Bama and CNS and that they have used the fact that CNS is Catholic against him. BTW - he is a regular church-goer and appears totally genuine to me. The fact that he doesn't wear it on his sleeve as much as Chizik doesn't make him any less Christian.

Good insight Cobra.

Seriously guys, if you listen to F-bomb and take it seriously (as do so many of his listeners) then you are just like them! Come ON! Grow up. The people who take Paul SERIOUS haven't. Will you?

I used to go to an Episcopal church, and it's sort of half way between Catholic and Protestant. I have heard people take shots at Episcopalians, too. But I think everybody should be judged on his or her own merits.

Swamptick, that's good to know that people don't take Finebaum serious! But as you can see, for me and others not living close to Bama Heaven....we don't know he's not taken serious! Good to know! I can't stand to hear him, but living in West Tn, and a life long Bama Fan, I want to hear about Bama Football! I've had No Luck to this point getting any Tn Radio Stations to have a Bama sports segment! Lol...thanks

As for Chizik I respect him for wearing his faith on his sleeve. As for Saban not wearing his faith on his sleeve that is his decision. At the end of the day we will all be judged by God and He will decide whether we were really christians or not. Being a chrisitan has NOTHING to do with the name of the church or the denomination affiliation. If Chizik is sharing his faith with kids and that has the kids wanting to be a part of Auburn then so be it, but Chizik shouldn't be ridiculed by ANYBODY for sharing his faith and if that helps recruiting then so be it.

Ah. I heard it too. Earlier I heard a columnist say that Chizik is a paper tiger, not so smart, and chosen to do the bidding of others.

Finebaum said some more stuff about how Coach Saban is "ruthless," which Finebaum defines as "without pity." That's a crock and we all know it. I don't listen to Finebaum to hear him. I just get a kick out of the really stupid things some callers say.

BTW, I'm Catholic too. I've had people tell me Catholics aren't Christians. This is the ignorance some people are taught in their churches. It's not their fault, so I always explain where the word "Protestant" comes from. Just doing what I can.

I listen to FB daily and did.t find anything he said to get me filed up. Then again I take his show as entertainment and hang my serious hat at the door....

FB didn't mean ruthless in the sense people room the bait and ran with.it. he meant relentless and I totally agree. Id rather have a relentless recruiting machine than someone who pitches religion onto people (this highly pisses me off) .

People need to take a breath and listen to the show from an entertainment perspective. Afterall, no matter what FB says is only a grain of salt compared to what all the redneck cow-erds says about Bama and its fans.

My thoughts on F-baum: 1. I love listening to the show for humor, to get me pumped up, and to get a feel for the pulse of the south and southern football. But 2. Finebaum is an absolutely arrogant, pretentious, back-stabbing, two-faced radio host... but that's what he is... a radio host. He's gonna say the things that get people riled up. He decides on the spot which side of an argument he is going to take. I remember countless times where I listen to one thing one day, then the next day hear him say literally the EXACT opposite. It's really quite amazing to me. (To give examples: he said, and i quote, "I was in Glendale, and let me tell you, there were not too many bars around that stadium where Cecil could have been watching the game." then the very next day (and this is hilarious to me that he really said this) "I was in Glendale and there were plenty of bars all around that stadium where he could have been watching the game and just come in right at the end."; and another example: "I really think there has to be a smoking gun here, probably not before the championship, but at some time I think the NCAA will find evidence that suggests Cecil Newton did take money" then the very next day "He didn't take money, there is no evidence and quite frankly I don't think they will find any that says he did take money") So FWIW, the Finebaum show is exorbitantly entertaining, but he will get on your nerves very, very quickly.

The part about Saban threatening Arie's scholarship actually showed up on barner message boards on NSD about the time word was getting out that Cyrus wasn't going to send in his LOI that day. Finebaum picked up message board innuendo and speculation and ran with it.

As far as the merits of the faith of each coach, Christ said "by their fruits you shall know them".

Here's just a thought...

Let's assume you are interviewing for a job, you have two offers and your last one happens to be from a business owner who is very public about his faith. The other isn't, but there isn't any doubt that he has his beliefs as well.

Is one a better choice than the other?

CK comes from a ethnic group who really values their faith, the role of a father in a household, respect, etc. I understand how a coach with a strong faith—that he's vocal with—could attract someone like CK.

I'm not going to stand on either side of this discussion. In my opinion, it has nothing to do with football.

IF he's majoring in some type of religious studies and he has a professor he thinks can teach him a lot. I'd understand.

Faith and football...they have nothing in common.

I really like Finebaum's show and just happened to be in my car listening when the caller suggested this and Finebaum went along. I did not take it as Finebaum's suggestion. Do you really think that Saban isn't trying trying to influence the brother on the team, the mom and the dad? Really?

Do you really think Finebaum is on a campaign to discredit Saban? Really?

The idea that no one is allowed to ever say anything critical of Nick Saban is really pathetic. What was said speculatively is really not that big a big deal.

Wow, dabaxter, you show use your wise insight yet again. :lance:

You seem to have convinced yourself in your own little world that everyone just sticks up for Nick Saban because he's Nick Saban. What you fail to realize (astoundingly) is that we stick up for him when he's being assaulted with COMPLETELY BASELESS claims. Then again, you know all about baseless claims don't you?
