Yes, you read that correctly. The five-star standout has been called as ānot a good fitā by their staff and apparently they have decided to bow out of trying to get Wilson to give a verbal to the Auburn Tigers.
First of all, it seems a bit on the childish side to call out āa variety of factorsā as the reasons for the decision to stop his recruitment, especially when there hasnāt been a mention of any problems anywhere else. Is it because he is recruiting players to Alabama? If thatās it, say it. Donāt sell out the kid leaving something open to suggestion so that some stable fan can surely come up with a reasonable explanation. If you feel he is going to Alabama, just say that. All the other is totally unnecessary.
Perhaps the Tigers were looking at the Montgomery Al player to fill out their depleted defensive back depth or perhaps they were looking to him to possibly fill out their need for up to eight commits on the defensive line when they have zero.
Regardless of the reason, itās Bush league. Commits take visits all of the time and yes, they do recruit other players on visits. Itās the game. If you donāt have the heart for the game, maybe you should take up quidditch. If you lost the recruiting battle of a prospect, admit defeat, dust yourself off, and be prepared for Saban to take another sometime soon.
