Clemson was sick of the media's love of Alabama.
This year's CFB National Championship game was a bit of a shocker as the Clemson Tigers stunned the Alabama Crimson Tide 44-16 to capture their second title in three seasons. The win cemented Clemson's place amongst the best teams in college football history. Throughout the year though, everyone in the media was claiming that the Crimson Tide were the surefire favorites to win it all. With all they've accomplished in the past, it only makes sense that people would feel as though they have the best chance to come away with a win.

In the end, though, the Tigers won and they finally received their championship rings. According to TMZ, sources close to the team say the ring was actually meant to throw shade at Alabama. On the side of the ring, it is written "Best Ever" which is a shot at the fact that Alabama was being claimed champions before the season even ended. While this insult might be a stretch, the shots were thrown on a ring so there isn't exactly a lot of space to throw shade.

The ring, which is made by Jostens, features two CFB Championship trophies to signify their two wins in the big game. Inside of the tiger paw, there are 14 stones to represent 14-straight Bowl game appearances, while the other 18 stones signify 18 ACC Championships.

In the video above, courtesy of TMZ, you can see the players flexing their rings for the first time.

What do you think of the hardware?

If Bama would have beaten Clemson they would have been considered the best team of all time. We didn't and now I see "pathetic" and "disaster" used by a lot of fans. That's just how the cookie crumbles today with one game defining an entire season. It's not going to be any different this year with two or three games defining the season.

I don't think anyone's arguing and we're still seeing "acknowledge!"

Headstones versus toilet paper.

You have to pick one as your tradition.

I'd have to pick headstones then!! At least their headstones are only placed for significant wins and not littering after every single win, whether it be BAMA or Samford. They will tell you it is a tradition for the big games only, yet you can find toilet paper in the trees following every single victory!! This year, they have added basketball to that list or at least in the last 5 weeks when they discovered that basketball is a sport as well.

Like it or not, Clemson beat one of Alabama's best offensive teams and one of Alabama's better defensive teams. Sucks...

Luckily Coker was a baller ;)

I've got news for them and us, neither team is the best ever. Our defense was nowhere near a team that could be anointed the best ever. Our offense could carry that designation, but our defense made us a maybe a Top 15 team of all time, IF we had won. There are a few other Alabama teams I think that would have drilled this(us) team, namely the 2012 team, and even the Capital One team in 2010 I believe it was.

“It’s awfully important to win with humility. It’s also important to lose. I hate to lose worse than anyone, but if you never lose you won’t know how to act. If you lose with humility, then you can come back.”...…...Coach Bryant

Who you think signed off on the final design?

Anybody still want Dabo to take over for Saban when he hangs up his whistle?

Anybody?

If he cut out all of that goofball bullshit and stupid quip statistics that make it seem like he is trying so hard to talk his team up I would be fine with him. Keep coaching and being a likable guy, that's what I want him to do, all the other cute shenanigans and crap is childish to me.

Both tombstones and toilet paper are so beyond stupid. So far beyond.
@Sgt. Lincoln Osiris .. the design isn't awful.
Dabo is a good guy. He will have a long and prosperous run at Clemson. By time nick says bye. He will be fully in trenched at Clemson
and be master if his own program
Sit back and watch

It's not as bad as the runner-up rings Miles made famous a few years ago. So there's that.

To me the ring sticks out more as a senior ring than it does a title ring. It's encapsulating a four year run for one, and highlighting two wins as well. It loses part of its dynamic. The 15-0 run is the best season recorded yet I don't see that mentioned. I see two titles and four appearances which is the best ever, but not solely owned by Clemson.

Oh well...to each their own, ya know?

15-0 is in the bleachers of the ring. The "Coast To" really through me off. I thought that was stupid and was either unfinished or something within the program we don't know about.
